ymncruise Posted January 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2023 We went to The Boatyard for our day in Barbados. There was a $35 cover charge per person which included a drink, chair, umbrella, and water activities. The chairs are limited, so it’s probably best to go early in the day. The sand is powdery soft and the beach is beautiful. The water was calm during our visit. The rum punch is really good and strong. I can’t wait to go back. Barbados was our favorite stop on our cruise. 2
sft429 Posted January 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2023 Did that $35 include a taxi back to the pier? We usually walk there from the ship but walking back can be a bit more of a challenge.
ymncruise Posted January 29, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted January 29, 2023 Yes, it included the taxi back to the ship.
Joesantos Posted February 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2023 The boatyard is a great value in a way as if you snorkel its included with a boat ride to sea turtles and ship wreck. Go early including one drink and ride back to your ship. Happy hour special and the crew and dancers will be there!

Ill attest to the price, taxi fare and everything you get for $35.00 pp. We were there near the end of March 2023.
kelib Posted May 4, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2023 When I went there a few years ago there were taxis/buses going to the boatyard outside the port. Are they still there?

Rare Cruise till you drop Posted May 16, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 16, 2023 Does one need to book in advance or just hop a taxi upon arrival by cruise ship ?
ymncruise Posted May 16, 2023 Author #10 Share Posted May 16, 2023 I don’t remember exactly, but I don’t think it was far…maybe 15 minutes. We didn’t make a reservation, but the earlier you go, the better chair selection you will have. We had to wait in a slow line to get a wrist band. We were there on a public holiday - Errol Barrow Day - Barbados independence day from the UK.

It’s not far away. The walk down the pier from where we docked was long In Barbados.
carbon Posted May 17, 2023 #12 Share Posted May 17, 2023 I read that it is a 15-20 minute walk.

ymncruise Posted May 28, 2023 Author #14 Share Posted May 28, 2023 When you exit the dock, head to the taxi stand. I think the vans were $5 per person and it’s free to come back to the ship. The entry fee was $35 per person and covered a chair, umbrella, and a drink. They have a website with more info.

KatNiss Houston Posted June 2, 2023 #16 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Last time I went was just before COVID and it was $25 pp, but even at $35 it's a steal. It included beach chairs and umbrella, a free drink, snorkeling, use of the water toys, and a free shuttle back to the ship.
