j3000 Posted February 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2023 (edited) LOLooking for recs for a reasonably-priced hotel (if there is such a thing!) near the Miami port for 2 nights April 4&5, pre-cruise. For comparison, our last few cruises (pre-covid) have been out of Ft. Lauderdale & we found the hotels there, along 17th street? -HI Express, Embassy Suites..- to be adequate, clean enough & OK. Would prob. like to get something that includes "free" breakfast & "free" shuttles to port. Suggestions appreciated. Oh, is HOTWIRE still a good site to try??? ....been a while 🙂 Edited February 1, 2023 by jargey3000
Rare Noxequifans Posted February 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2023 My estimate is that hotels closer to the port have less incentive to offer "free" transport to the port.
CruiserBruce Posted February 1, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2023 There are many threads here on Miami hotels...several on the first two pages of the board. Every single one frequently recommends the Hampton Brickell, which is a very good hotel in a great location. Breakfast is included. Shuttle has a fee. Flymia Posted February 3, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2023 Holiday Inn Port Miami is an older hotel. Recent reviews on the board show that it is still pretty good. Check out TripAdvisor reviews. It is a great location, 5-10 mins to the ship. There are no free shuttles in the Downtown Miami/Brickell area, and its not needed. A taxi or Uber is a 10-min drive and should cost no more than $10-$15. Shuttles are usually charging $8-$10 a person, so usually a rideshare or taxi is cheaper. On hotels.com with a member login I am seeing the Hampton Inn Brickell (top pre-cruise hotel on the boards) at $300/night, which is not bad. YVE hotel is showing under $200/night for those dates in 2023.

Jenner9 Posted February 5, 2023 #11 Share Posted February 5, 2023 The other option is stay in FLL since you have preciously stayed there in hotels you like. Then Uber to the port day of the cruise. Staying in Hollywod, FL is another option. Look at hotels on the Boardwalk. Riptide and Walkabout are options but there is also a Marriott and a Margaritaville. Great location. Hollywood is between FLL and Miami.
