Hello all,

need a little help with the best and easiest way to travel from Venice to Ravenna to catch the Constellation for our Cruise. Tried calling the Celeb  but to be truthful not very helpful at all. So I thought I would ask my fellow Cruisers for some advise. We would like some direction on the easiest way to get to Ravenna from the city center of Venice, we are planning to book a hotel in the city Center but again looking for a recommendation on a hotel cost around 300-350 a night .We are basically looking for a nice hotel with a location the we can get to the tourist cites a easily and get to the pick up area for the transfer to Ravenna. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there -- in general it's best to post questions about destinations on the Ports of Call boards here (look at the main page for guidance). Or if your question is specific to a cruise line (e.g., Celebrity), you can also post on their board.

As luck would have it, I do have info for you though. 😎.  I boarded Constellation in Ravenna last October, after having flown in from Venice. Celebrity offered shuttles to Ravenna from Venice for a reasonable price (considering that it is a two-hour drive). I believe the cost was around $58 USD. The shuttles depart from either the airport (if you are flying in on the day of the cruise -- not recommended) or from an area convenient to Venice proper, e.g., Tronchetto, a parking/transportation area easily reached by taking the People Mover from Piazzale Roma.

I read about the shuttle here but as you say Celebrity was not super helpful. My TA booked it for me.

The issue with taking the train from Venice is that there is no direct route. You have to change trains in Ferrara -- finding your way to another platform (possibly on a different level) with all one's baggage is not ideal for everyone, especially if you don't pack light. There are no porters and no luggage carts.

@kentrav

Howdy and welcome back to the Cruise Critic message boards! I see it has been a while since you have posted on the boards.

Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns specific ports and is off topic there.

To help you out I have moved your thread to the Italy Ports forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have been there frequent this forum and can provide feedback. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You may find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you.

Cruise Critic is a great resource for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you are posting on the boards!  Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community Categories list. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in a forum. You will find very important instructions or information there.

Also want to let you know the specific Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date will be the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before your cruise. Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. To explain our Roll Call threads, please read What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines we all agree to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships.

Click here October 2, 2023 - 10 Night Venice, Turkey and Greek Islands to go to your Roll Call thread. The Celebrity shuttle to Ravenna has been discussed. Take some time to read the entire Roll Call thread, post an introductory post about yourself, and continue on with more posts back and forth to get to know the other Roll Call thread members and allow them to get to know you. Per the Guidelines, the specific Roll Call thread for your cruise is the only place on the Cruise Critic message boards where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions, transportation etc. with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" on your Roll Call thread since you are all sailing together!

suggest you use the Follow feature on this thread or any other thread where you are interested in the new replies. That way you will not have to go looking to see if there are new replies on your Followed threads because they will come looking for you as notifications! If you need more info on how to do it, please click the following: How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info)

Hope this will be helpful and glad to have you back aboard the Cruise Critic message boards!

Happy sails,

Host Kat

Hi, did you take the shuttle from Ravenna back to VCE airport? If yes, what is the earliest shuttle? I'm travelling on Constellation ending in Ravenna and want to get to VCE airport for a 12:40PM flight same day. Thoughts? Thank you!

Hi -- my BTB cruise ended in Civitavecchia, not Ravenna. I do know that they were offering shuttles but I don't recall the timing. Sorry!
