Kenato Posted February 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2023 Looking at all the named beaches in Carlisle Bay and Brownes beach looked as if may be far enough from Cruise terminal to not be too busy. Can anyone please provide any information on Brownes Beach or a better, non crowded one they reccommend.
sft429 Posted February 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2023 Carlisle Bay has one big, gorgeous beach. Different sections of it may be called different names but it's one beach. Walk there from the dock and pick a spot for yourself. It's my fav place in the Caribbean.
CarolRoy Posted February 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2023 We have been to Brownes beach many times. It is our choice on Carlisle Bay. It is a local beach. There are chair rentals. We have walked there from the ship a few times. But now prefer a taxi (bad knees). Take the taxi from the port with others going to the more populated beach bars like the Boatyard. Tell the driver you want to go to Brownes and he will take you there once the others get off. You can get a taxi back. There is a restroom with attendants. The attendants will call for a cab when you want to go back to the ship.
Aplmac Posted February 14, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2023 Yeaahh... Carlisle Bay is one big sweeping arc of a beach with a few different names, per section: much of a muchness, really! The farthest-away (from the dock), and nearing the Hilton Hotel is called Pebbles Beach -see picture below. so called because there was once a beachside restaurant there by that name...back in the 1960s (most locals have NO idea why! lol)

Could not really pin point where it was in relation to Brownes. Now I know. Do you know how far it is away from Brownes and if they rent chairs, rest rooms, etc. at Pebbles.

Pebbles is on one side of that jetty sticking-out.. and Yacht Club beach and Browne's Beach are on the other side (closer to Bridgetown and the Port). Yes, I see chair and umbrella rentals at Pebbles, regularly and there is an NCC Hut there with showers and toilets.NCC = National Conservation Commission. Hope this helps?

Another question. How far is Brownes to Pebbles if you walk it on the beach?

It's not far BUT... you have to get around that jetty that sticks out. If it's a low tide, it might be do-able, but at Hi Tide, maybe not! If it weren't for the jetty, it's about 200-300 yds.?
