Yes, I received this email from them about an hour after I submitted my request.

Thank you for contacting Norwegian Cruise Line.  Your shareholder benefit request has been received.

We appreciate your patience as we work hard to get back to you as soon as possible.  Please note, due to the high volume of inquiries, our response may take up to 7 business days.  We ask that you refrain from submitting multiple requests for the same concern, as it may cause further delays in providing you with a response.

If you have not yet done so, please submit your most recent brokerage account statement, reflecting your ownership of at least 100 NCLH shares.

I have mine approved all the way up to 2025.   I find it interesting (not that I’m complying) that there is no advanced date limit on submissions.   If I sold my stock prior to one of our upcoming cruises, I don’t know how they would know.  I’m not being devious here, it’s just I this day and age where no cruise line wants to give away a dime, I find it interesting that they done say something like “ credit will not be granted until you are within. X period of time prior to sailing.

I have also had this thought.  I submit mine for any current year cruises, but I can see how this might be abused. I first heard about the shareholder benefit from a fellow cruiser that specifically stated he would buy 100 shares when he knew he was going to book a cruise and then sell them once the cruise was booked.  Now that I know a little more about the process I would think it prudent to have some sort of definitive time frame for ownership/processing.  Final payment seems too long, maybe upon 21 day check in you have to show proof of ownership? Or, maybe it was just easier to restrict how the credit could be used (no CruiseNext or Casino)?

I can’t see the advantage of. Selling and rebuying, given the brokerage costs.  I bought my shares after COVID when the shares were at their all time low, so they sit in my account gaining in value, or at least for the time being.

Most of us don't pay any brokerage costs for buying/selling individual stocks.  If you do, than you might want to find a better brokerage.  That said, we're talking about sixteen hundred bucks worth of stock right now.  I really don't understand why people would be anxious to unload that for something else.  Since I plan to keep cruising for the rest of my life, I'll just let it ride.

Same for me, but I also recall him saying at the time it was "just two grand" and since he didn't pay any brokerage fees it was an immediate ROI for him.  At the time we happened to be on a 15-day TA so $250 for $2000 is a very nice ROI.
