That lack of difference or difference may be because the Aussies are the predominant guests onboard those cruises and are predominantly nonsmokers, so...

It is unfortunate that Princess went away from smoke free nights on Formal Nights and also had more smoking restrictions during Covid in their casinos.  The old prevailing thought was "banning smoking hurt casino profits" but when Las Vegas banned smoking in their casinos during the height of Covid that was not what new research is showing.

On the current TA. I was told that the Salty Dog Gastropub is being converted to an Irish Pub. Also, the casino is being removed for more slot machines. After spending many evenings in the casino, I can understand this as I never saw 1 person sitting at the casino bar. There are so many other bars on the ship to select from.

The casino never appeared smoky to us on this cruise and we hate smoke.

You would have though they'd have those statistics when they stopped smoking during the Covid shutdown.

Also had less passengers on the ships after the restart, so casino use during that time does not represent normal use.

Thanks for the update.  Going to be on in August and, as a wine drinker, was crossing my fingers for Vines.  Seems odd they'd just put a different restaurant/menu entirely in such a short time period but we shall see.  Had no interest in Salty Dog.  The casino bar removal makes sense.

Hoping some place on board has some different & upgraded wine choices but since we'll be cruising in Europe, I'm sure I'll survive!  🙂

In the dining room, there are probably 100 different bottles of wine that you can purchase. Good selection.

I hear you.  I just prefer the more eclectic selections in Vines by the glass (we will have Premier Pkg this cruise), plus the bartenders are typically so fun and knowledgeable.  In December, on Sky, I was lamenting that the updated Vines menu did not have the Chablis anymore, and the bartender suggested a crisp Vermentino from Sardinia, which I ended up loving. Doubt that other bars and main dining had that listed by the glass. Again, I'll survive and enjoy myself immensely regardless!

Sorry to get this thread off track.  Can't wait to what changes will be made next month to Enchanted.

Salty Dog becoming an Irish pub makes more sense than earlier threads that mentioned it going into Sabatini's.  Hopefully, once Enchanted goes into dry dock next week we will finally learn officially what is going on.  Most of us are just curious - I can't imagine if I was getting onboard in a couple weeks not knowing what will be there - or even worse if I already had reservations for a restaurant that may no longer exist or one that may now find itself in the Piazza.

Sabatini's is supposed to be moved into the Sur La Mer area, not Salty Dog.  I'm not surprised that they might change Salty Dog.  We were on Enchanted for 30 days, and a table of four people was the largest number of diners that we saw the whole time.

We didn't go to Sur La Mer but from what I've been reading it was the openness and noise of people passing through that detracted from the experience.

Unless they section off the area it won't change the ambiance to any degree.

The Enchanted Princess is scheduled for dry dock March, 25th – April 15th, 2023.  The Enchanted Princess has no schedule itineraries between that time. The dry dock will be preformed in Marseille, France.   If you look at the Marseille Port schedule it shoes the Enchanted is schedule in port in March 24th. -- Most likely getting ready for dry dock.  In fact - Cruisemapper.com indicated Enchanted Princess Itineraries shows no break in the schedule for 2024.

Completely agree.  Some of the acts in the Piazza are so loud that it's hard to hold a conversation when dining in that space.  And the fact that people just passing through can walk right by your table when you're dining was definitely a turn-off to us.

I agree the space is awful. Unfortunately so was the meal we had there last month.  It also took 90 minutes to get our food.

I believe we only walked through the area once and a waitress was serving a table tight next to the railing at that time.

There was hardly enough room to sneak past.

From that point on we went on the other side.

Just off Enchanted. We were told they are going to out doors at the entrance of the casino to keep smoke in and no smoke going into the Piazza

Meaning all the smoke will stay completely contained? We are doing a 15 day TA later this year. We love the casino, but the smoke makes us both ill.

I agree. We are not big users of the casino but with the smoke we rarely went to the casino. It is very small which doesn't help.

That's OK with lots of folks who would rather breath clean air in the Piazza. If they want my money they'll stop the smoking altogether.

Me and my girlfriend are on Enchanted April 15th for a 2 week Med so will be interesting to see what changes are made to her. Was on her back in August last year and couldn't fault it. A lot of people talking about the casino smoke but honestly I'm used to it by now, rarely go in the casino anyway. Only go through it to reach the Theatre or vice versa. Tiny bit gutted the bar is being removed because it was a great spot to get a quick drink compared to good spirits, princess live etc.

We found that location to be a poor choice for any specialty dining venue for the reasons you mentioned.

The problem is the same as on Discovery. The smoke from the casino wafts into the Piazza area on deck 6 and negatively those venues there. On the Discovery it made a major portion of Crooners unuseable.
