Jimbo Posted February 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) This is the last 3 days of the cruise. Would like to get off in Naples with other luggage to meet relatives that live near by (Cusano Mutri) and over night at their house. Then we would get a rental car and probably go to Rome for a few days and then fly home from Rome. Is this possible on a Celebrity Ship? Cruise starts in Barcelona if that means anything? Day 8: At Sea Thu Jun 20 2024 | Day 9: Naples - Italy Fri Jun 21 2024 | 07:00 AM To 06:00 PM Day 10: Rome (Civitavecchia) - Italy Sat Jun 22 2024 | Arrive 06:00 AM Edited February 12, 2023 by Jimbo
basenji56 Posted February 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2023 Pre-covid, this was possible with extra payment. Not sure if it still is possible now.
Rare Essiesmom Posted February 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2023 Theoretically yes. You have to request permission of he cruise line. Providing your port prior to Naples is in a Schengen country, there would not be any customs or immigration formalities. But this is also a year away, who knows what may change. RTShaker Posted February 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2023 A lot depends on the rules of the port country, Italy in this case. There was a time this was allowed if requested and a small fee paid. Unsure if it is still allowed by Celebrity, but the country rules trump all. bEwAbG Posted February 12, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2023 It's called a downline debarkation and you have to have it approved in advance. Contact Celebrity directly and ask. There was another thread on here just in the last several days where a few people reported back that they were denied. They had suspended the policy during COVID so maybe still sticking to that for now. By Summer 2024? Who knows?

bEwAbG Posted February 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2023 Here is that recent thread where someone was told "no." Of course it can depend on where but seems like as a matter of policy they're not currently doing it.
