Verandah porthole with a porthole?

Will someone describe the pluses and minuses of the Celebrity Beyond verandah staterooms with a porthole.  Are these rooms exempt from the loud noises?

We have a DPV booked on the Apex. The plus for us, it's more the traditional type of balcony compared to the IV, but not compared to the sunset balcony staterooms. No balcony is going to be noise free, fleetwide.

The minus is that these staterooms are dark, view blocked, the balcony tiny and you can just sit sideways on it because they are so narrow.

 

We had a PO booked and declined a free “upgrade” to a porthole veranda on Edge.

Enjoyed the PO as a good and less expensive option.

Is this your experience with DPV staterooms?

Mine didn’t seem especially dark.

 

I appreciated being able to open the sliding glass door for fresh air and not having the room air conditioning turned off and I also liked the standard black out curtains rather than the rollup shade

Two Apex cruises, two porthole balconies. One towards the front 

and one towards the rear end of the ship. Nothing about them 

we didn’t like. We had fresh air whenever we wanted it and the

balcony was large enough. They are the only cabins we would

consider booking in our general price range on an Edge Class

ship. There was no creaking as has been reported on

Beyond. It is a bit of a hike to the lifts but it helps keep us fit.

Just got off Apex and we loved it. Window is huge. Loved we could have door open. Curtains were great black out ones. My hubby and I will definitely book them again. Ours had no obstruction and we could turn the chairs on a nice angle to see out. Deck 9 aft (9303)

Thank you all for the great pics and information about the porthole balconies!  The staterooms look bright and inviting.
