sherman931 Posted February 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2023 Trying to verify if the tables (blackjack, poker, etc) in the casino on the Regal are not being staffed or operated.
riffatsea Posted February 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2023 They are open on the other ships so I'd be surprised if the Regal is different

You might check one of the Threads on the forum for the Regal right now or a current roll call. They would know.

Rare Hlitner Posted February 22, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2023 The casino is a major profit center. Princess would sooner leave the Bridge unstaffed rather than the casino :). 2
sherman931 Posted February 22, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted February 22, 2023 Thanks for responses so far. My bad for a poorly worded question. Most specifically: Does the Regal have Three Card Poker tables with live dealers. Read somewhere they have electronic 3card poker. Not interested if they have electronic, trying to verify if they have live dealers at actual tables. Thanks
jeromep Posted February 22, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2023 The casino (and Princess Prizes) will not be open if the ship is not in International waters. Once the ship is in international waters gambling can commence. If you heard this from somebody on board, I suspect that they are not visiting the casino at the right times or have not bothered to speak with a casino host or passenger services to find out when the casino might be operating again. Thanks Back in late 2021 we were on a different Princess ship where many of the table games were closed (for a few days). I happened to meet the Assistant Casino Manager and asked her about the closed tables. She told me that several of her dealers were confined to their cabins due to illness (likely COVID) and she had to close down some tables because they did not have enough staff. I think many passengers forget that cruise ships do not carry extra staff and the same kind of health issues that impact cruisers also create staffing problems on ships.
