Beaches and or Day Passes in Aruba?

For those of you with families spending the day on Eagle Beach I thought I would mention this. As your walking down the ramp to the beach if you look to your left you'll see 2 outdoor men's and women's bathrooms very centrally located.

I say that because I've been to many beaches and the restroom is down at the end of the beach around the corner to the left at the rear of some building.🥺

Nope it's not like that, Eagle Beach bathrooms are right there, that comes in very handy when you drink on a beach like I do.😁😎😁😎

Or if you have children. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I can help you out with that.

When your group of 9(how nice!!) gets off your ship, your going to bottleneck out of port security to your left then go to the right into town.

Your not solo like myself. If I were you I would find a minivan taxi never a problem and pay them to take you and pick you up at an agreed upon time to and from Eagle Beach. They'll be a ZILLION taxi drivers as you walk outside of security.

With a group that size your own taxi van with just your family is the way to go. You can work out a very reasonable fee and time to be picked up.

I'm solo for me it's very easy to take city transportation but in your case you can all go together in the same van for a very reasonable price.

Nice palapas for rent at Eagle Beach.

It's nice. Your group if you get there early you can rent a couple of them right beside each other. With 2 loungers, I'm not sure what they cost a palapa and 2 chairs is around $25 a day. Great deal great beach.

Passions at the Beach as you go down the ramp to the beach will be on your right, I recommend you getting palapas close to Passions. Get your palapas BETWEEN Passions and the Beach not on the side, go up front get you a couple of palapas where you can see everything plus if you get thirsty or hungry Passions is right there. GREAT food I found their menu for a beach bar, incredible. Best seat on the beach.

I don't know if you can rent palapas ahead of time. I've never done that I just get to the beach EARLY find me the nicest palapa, drop my backpack pay the man, and get the party started.

I guess you could email Amsterdam Manor and check OR get your group together early and get to Eagle Beach.

Unless there's a large number of ships in port there really shouldn't be too much of a problem renting a couple of palapas. Have a nice vacation and when you get back please don't forget to give us a review. Take care

Wowowowow!! Wow! Thank you SO very much for the thorough information! Much appreciated! I will defintely report back after our trip in March and let you know how the day went... And how/where do I review? Here on cruise critic?

where exactly at Eagle beach did you find this price? Passions bar beach?

We were at Eagle beach in 2022, and 1 umbrella with 2 chaises was $40. Looks like it's $50 now:

I assume we should plan to bring our car seat.

how old, tall and heavy is the child? what car seat are you bringing from home?

I would not assume that all the taxis in Aruba have functioning seat belts and/or latch or isofix anchors.

do check this board for more information on traveling with kids.

My palapa and 1 lounger I'm solo was either $25-$30. It used to be less than that, I've been going to this beach now for 20 years. The palapas for years were $10+$5 for lounger.

The days of sitting on any beach in the Caribbean for little of nothing is over and it should be.

Me personally I wish they would charge more so Itchy&Scratchy would go down to Baby Beach and hang out with all the babies.😂

are you ok?

I'm fine I was just playing around sheesh lighten up.🥰

Did I just read where the price went up to $50 a day for palapa and 2 loungers? It was just a matter of time until they figured it out when it came to Eagle Beach.

She is going to be one next month.  She weights about 18 lbs.  Maybe 23 inches long.

My hobby happens to be car seat safety, and these questions are just the very basic ones which I ask every parent who has questions about a travel seat. 23" seems a little unrealistic for an average one year old child. She is probably a bit taller than that, unless she has a medical condition making her very short. Average height at 12 months is around 30".

For a one year old, I'd look into using a Cosco Scenera NEXT for travel. It's light and compact, and you can also use it on the plane. It's super easy to attach it to a stroller if you are bringing one to haul it around the airport:

Alternatively, you can fasten it to a hand truck or a carry on suitcase with bungee cords:

If a car overseas doesn't have lower latch anchors or lockable seat belts, but it does have seatbelts,  you can use a belt clip which you can purchase on amazon.image.thumb.jpeg.579b52fc5ff39d57e082f154969cba9b.jpeg

There is another very useful board outside of cruisecritic where you may find a lot of good info on traveling with the kiddo:

I hope you enjoy your cruise very much!

FYI- Taxis can only take 5 passengers,  by law. Your group will need 2 taxis, unless you find some other means of transportation,  like the bus or a shuttle.

I always use Resort for a Day to find a day pass for resorts.

That’s what we just did. We booked Eagle Aruba resort and casino.
Reviews looked good. Wondering why it hasn’t been mentioned yet by experienced cruisers to Aruba? This is our second time in Aruba , first time using a day pass.

Is this a hotel?  I don't think I've heard of this.

Eagle Aruba is a resort that is about a block away from the beach. It's a nice resort with a great pool. They have some reserved beach chairs and shade (palapas) on the beach,  but those are usually taken pretty early by their resort guests. There is a vendor beside them that rents chairs and umbrellas, but that can be done on your own without getting a day pass.
