Cheers -- Texas

I know when sailing from Galveston the Cheers package doesn't start until day two. Are you able to use the 25% off bottles of wine on day 1 as part of Cheers? I'm guessing not but was hoping for some feedback from Texas cruisers who have done this. TIA

At the very least you'd have to pay tax on it because you are still in Texas.  If it were me I would bring my own bottle of wine onboard to cover DAY 1 then use the 25% discount once you are in international waters (i.e. no tax).  I'm curious to know the answer to this as well.

Texas is so restrictive that they even have a separate (and quite limited) 'Texas' liquor stash onboard. You'll watch them completely clear out their bar when reaching international waters. Total PIA for the crew, I'm sure.

So no, there's zero Cheers program on day #1 (and no billing for it either).
