judla Posted March 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2023 I keep seeing an ad on TV from Celebrity for a "World Cruise". Does anyone know anything about it? I have tried to find it on the X website but no luck there.
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted March 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2023 (edited) I’ve seen numerous recent ads with the tag line “journey WonderFull” with images of the global destinations Celebrity sail to, but nothing specifically marketing a world cruise. There was also an ad with a tag line “The World is open” a few years ago, but it was more aspirational and not specific to any one destination and used to show that Celebrity can help you see the world. Rare Jim_Iain Posted March 13, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Last year they were advertising a "World Cruise" on Edge - It is actually 4 cruises and doesn't go around the world - Route - Rome - Dubai (October 30), Dubai - Singapore (November 13), Singapore to Sydney (November 25) AND Singapore New Zealand (December 9)
AtlantaCruiser72 Posted March 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2023 @Jim_Iain I had forgotten about them promoting Edges repositioning to AU/NZ in that manner. Very well could be it!

Very well could be it! Most "World Cruises" really aren't al the way around the world. I was looking at a number of them and usually it is just a term to mean a multi segment multi continental cruise of about 3 months duration. Covepointcruiser Posted March 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2023 If you look at the Cunard world cruises they will actually circumvent the world. You won’t hit every country but you do sail around the world. The Queen Ann, new ship, has a great 111 day world cruise next year if you have the time. Cruising Is Bliss Posted March 14, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2023 (edited) Traditionally a World Cruise would always cross all lines of longitude and be round trip the same city. For example, HAL calls all their other long cruises Grand Voyages. Best guess right now is that HAL's longest 2025 Grand Voyage (the alternate to their 2025 World Cruise) will be what everyone is calling the Pole to Pole, a four and a half month itinerary (round trip Fort Lauderdale) that would include scenic cruising above the Arctic Circle and scenic cruising in the Antarctic.
