Travel from Los Angeles to London

the trick for us, leave in the morning from california (noonish) and arrive in London around the same time..it makes our bodies adjust easier and then we just have a SOLID 8-9 hour sleep that night, then head for the ship.

however, coming home..the time difference will get ya..so plan on being tired for the next couple days after (for us; that’s fine as we can sleep in our own bed for that weekend to recoup)

 

We do the same -- one day in advance going from SFO to LHR.  If the objective is to deal with jet lag prior to the cruise, the one day is enough to get caught up and enjoy the cruise embark day.   We have also flown to arrive morning of embarkation several times.   It does make for a tiring and kind of groggy first day on the ship.   

 

Of course, if sight seeing is part of the objective, then one should add as many days as wanted.

Even when we strike in the UK we are so polite we try not to disrupt anyone. Its true

Good to know no burning, looting, or murder.  We were a little concerned over the transportation strikes in France, and how they might spread.

This is not addressing the "tired" or "sleeping" issue, but the "too many things can go wrong".

 

When we are flying to anywhere to take a cruise, we arrive four nights in advance. The only exception to that for us, is if we were cruising out of Galveston, which is about 75 miles away.
