Rare jpalbny Posted April 4, 2023 #180 Share Posted April 4, 2023 Sleep well! We drove to Ronda for a full day of wandering, back when we spent a week in Marbella. Such a unique place! We still think about it often and would very much like to visit again. Thanks for the memories.

If you go back, be sure to visit Casa Don Bosco, which has the best views of the bridge from its garden. [But fair warning to US baby boomers: the name refers to the founder of the Salesian order of Priests; they do not serve hot chocolate to tourists...]
Rare Port Power Posted April 5, 2023 #182 Share Posted April 5, 2023 I’ve been following your travels with interest from Japan. As an aside, Colleen and Susie send you both their love. 😊

Thanks for the memories. Continue to enjoy your great progress and pictures. Below is a map showing your current location with your ship circled in red. Connecting with Edward? Have you a chance to talk with your waiter who might have been the same one we met at the Royal Livingston in Zambia in early 2016? THANKS! Enjoy! Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #184 Share Posted April 5, 2023 Back on board and once again we bombed at trivia. But I regained some pride by winning at putting with 2 holes in one. Then dinner once more in Atlantide. The daily menu. We both started with the soft shell crab. It was nice. Rojaan had the lobster tail again and I went for the fillet steak. We were having dinner with another couple from our trivia team. I ordered mine rare and the other fellow ordered his medium rare and I am sure they mixed the orders up. I did have the tomato soup which I love on Silversea. Weboth ended with the cheeses cake. It was another good night.
Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #185 Share Posted April 5, 2023 Come the morning and we were in Cartagena. Able to sleep in as only a 9.30 am excursion. So it was already light. Good views from our balcony. Some rowers over at the Naval base.
Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #186 Share Posted April 5, 2023 After a breakfast in the Arts cafe we were off on an excursion. This turned out to be not so good. We were put into a bus and drove around the city for 45 minutes then let off the bus just outside the Port gates to walk to the Roman ruins. First from the bus.
Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #187 Share Posted April 5, 2023 And the view from where we get off the bus. Yrs that is the Silver Moon. And off we walk for the rest of the tour.
Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #188 Share Posted April 5, 2023 There wasanother Silversea tour going up the Tower but we walked on. More Spanish electrical wiring.
Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #189 Share Posted April 5, 2023 Now we are at the Museum at the Roman City site. So far most of the display is not from Roman times.

Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #191 Share Posted April 5, 2023 We had a pretty good guide from the museum for this part of the tour who explained what we were seeing now were original relics but out on the site mainly reproductions. Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #197 Share Posted April 5, 2023 And now we leave the museum for a glass of wine and a tapa - yes just one. Then some shopping time. And our Tapa. I then went for a walk.

Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #199 Share Posted April 5, 2023 These were actually advertising posters for gin. More Spanish electrical work. We decided then to walk back to the ship. Even for us it was less than 10 minutes walk and we beat most of those who caught the bus back to the ship.
Rare drron29 Posted April 5, 2023 Author #200 Share Posted April 5, 2023 Apart from the Museum the rest of the excursion was a waste of time. The excursion guide really didn't do anything for us.
