What do you get in the Birthday Package?

We have an upcoming trip on the Escape and it will be DH's birthday.  The Birthday package description is very basic and has not photos.  Has anyone purchased the package?  What did you think?  If you have pictures that would be fabulous.

Thanks for the help.

The description of the birthday and anniversary package are similar. Here's what we received with the anniversary package back in September on Getaway.

We also received a coupon for a special event cake that we could take to any restaurant. Apparently I didn't take a photo of it in September or last week (birthday). We did not order the birthday package for me last week...I should say, my husband did not order it. He just noted it was my birthday so we received a coupon for the cake. It's actually quite good - strawberry filled vanilla cake with yummy whipped cream surrounding it. I'm not a fan of a lot of frostings, so just normal whipped cream makes me happy!

We did not find the anniversary package to be worth $45. As you can see in those photos above, we received a "Happy Anniversary" sign, one streamer, and a cardboard bell. I am guessing the birthday package is similar, but maybe different colors, and I'd assume, says "birthday." 🙂

If you don't do the package, let NCL, your PCC or your TA know it's your birthday while onboard and they will note it on your reservation, you will get a cake voucher to take to the restaurant at no cost.

It is the "easy button". You will get a "Happy Birthday" banner, some streamers and a cake. Your stateroom steward will set it up for you. No effort on your part. And is not "bad" for the price.

We decorate on almost every cruise (and we cruise 6ish times a year). I stop at the Dollar store the week before cruise and pick up some seasonal or occasional decorations (for $1.25 each now) and a roll of scotch tape. It is a lot more effort on my part and takes up a little luggage space (trying not to get glitter over everything). At the end of the cruise, we carefully take down all of the decorations and leave them in a pile for our room steward to keep for themselves or trash.

Our TA already noted it on the reservation so that is taken care of, maybe I will just leeave it at that.  Plus I liek @BirdTravels idea of packing my own.  I am platinum with Disney and I have a big folder full of magnets but I know NCL doesn't like that - but I can pick up a birthday banner and some magnetic hooks and rock and roll 😉

Curios, can the coupon be used at ay restaurant?  We actually loved the buffet and O'Sheehans on our first NCL cruise (this is #2) and plan on eating there most nights.  We do  have 1 Specialty dining.

You should have a voucher in your room on the first day, if they forget, show the maitre d the print of your reservation and tell them what day you will be celebrating.
You can use it in any restaurant, the waiters will gather around to sing happy birthday, we used ours in the MDR.

Magnets and door decorations are fine.

Ok, I found my photos of last year’s birthday on board NCL.

Here are the cabin decorations, put up by the deck supervisor and the housekeeping supervisor (NOT the cabin attendant.)

Our butler asked what he could do to make the day special.  I asked for one white cupcake with white icing

The room attendant made a towel cake!

Thanks for the pictures!  Looks like they spoiled you.  But with a fabulous name like your I don't blame them.  I don't see my name very often!  😉
