Cabins With Bathtub

Looking at a cabin with a b next to cabin number on deck plan. Online ta website says cabin has a bathtub. MSC website shows the b on deck plan

but does not indicate anything about what b represents. If cabin actually has a tub does that mean cabin has no shower?

On Divina, those cabins have a big chair.  On Seaside they had a loveseat instead of a full couch. They only book two into those cabins.  EM

We are looking at the Seaside for booking. Previous poster indicated cabins with tubs are smaller. Did you find this to be the case?

Yes, the cabin interior is smaller because the tub takes more space in the bathroom than the shower.  The cabin is still roomy.  This is 14148 on Seaside:

You lose it in the depth because the tub is lengthwise, facing you as you enter the bathroom.  Makes it unable to hold a full couch, thus the loveseat.  But since there are no more than two in the cabin, you hardly notice.  EM

Thanks for all the great info. From the picture I wonder how safe it is to stand in the tub and try to shower on a moving ship. Also, trying to just climb into the tub could be a problem.

The tub sides are high. Dh had no problems in the shower he said. I used the tub and it was pretty small.

The B is often difficult to recognize on the deck plan, unless you know what you are looking at.  I am not sure if they have added it on all ship plans.  Here are two examples.  The first is on Seaside, we had cabin 14148.  At the time we booked, there was no indication on the deck plans that there was a tub.  And cabins with a tub are only for two because the bathroom takes up more space than one with a shower, so not space for the sofa bed or bunk sofa.
The second is on Divina, we had cabin 8114.  You can see the B better here, laying on its back.  You have to learn to distinguish it from the symbols for bunk sofa, two uppers, etc. For instance there are some cabins that connect, one with tub and the other the two dots of a bunk sofa.  Look at 14152 & 14156.  The deck plan key on the website does not tell you what the B means.  The deck plans on cruisedeckplans.com do.  EM
