It changes all the time, they constantly move machines around the casino and swap machines in/out of ships. I've gone ashore in Nassau and that night when the casino reopens they've moved machines around.

None really. Carnival does not enforce non smoking machines in the casino. even if you find one, chancs are a smoker will sit down right next to you.

sadly very true...and the "actively playing" rule is just as useless as the "no shorts in the MDR" rule...nobody says a word about it. The casino is more smoky now vs. before with the casino bar because all the smokers just stand around the machines.

If a smoker is in the non-smoking section I call one of the staff members over and they have to do something.

Do Something? Like what?

Pathetically splitting a casino to smoking/non-smoking without physical barriers is like having a peeing/non-peeing divided pool.

Like telling them to stop or leave

The smoke in the non-smoking sections is nothing like it used to be and isn't an issue at all one the newest Carnival ships.

Several Carnival ships have non-smoking casino rooms that are completely separate from the main casino.

And as long as people don’t say anything, it will continue! I don’t hesitate to tell someone they’re at a non smoking machine! Last one said oh I didn’t know and promptly put her cigarette out in an empty glass and left! How can you not know when the no smoking symbol is right where you put your card!

Not true, maybe your opinion, but it’s been my experience recently most people follow the rules. The bar area used to be unbearable, but not now!

They know they're just inconsiderate and don't care. The smoking/nonsmoking signs are clear as day.

One jerk even had the audacity to try to light a cigar, which isn't allowed anyway. His attitude toward me (everybody is smoking) disappeared when an attendant told him to knock it off. His suddenly became very apologetic knowing he was on thin ice.

  • 3 weeks later...

Got back from the Liberty last week and wanted to give you all an update. I had thought that the no-smoking signs were going to be big signs displayed at the top of the machines like they are at WinStar, but Liberty only had a little sticker near the area where you put your card. I was playing at a non-smoking machine and the smoke level wasn't too bad. When I went to try my luck at another part of the casino, the smoke was overwhelming and I wondered why there was such a difference. It didn't click until I went back to a non-smoking machine and noticed the sticker. If it had been a snake it would have bitten me! LOL!
