Advice on adding on quick trip to Monaco/Monte Carlo B4 Celebrity Edge Nice/Eze tour please

My DW and I are looking for advice and experience(s) reg us trying to utilize  our time and take the train from Villfrance to  Monaco/Monte Carlo for a quick sightsee and return before our meeting time at the Cruise Terminal? (where the Tender docks) for 12: 45.

As we aren't a coveted Suite or other highly esteemed  passenger status and that we have the Celebrity tour at midday; we are worried that we will get off the ship and over to shore with not enough time to take our  little side-trip before we comfortably meet with our tour to  Nice and Eze.

Any experience in doing this? the logistics of it? Feasibility? Tips? or worst case : other alternatives within Villefrance?

Help with this is greatly appreciated.

Thnx

Cameron and Linda

Not for the places you are asking about, but in the past we have taken a morning ship excursion followed by a separate afternoon ship excursion.   Doing that would depend on a sponsored excursion in the morning that is scheduled to be back in time for the mid-day tour.

Monaco is not far, but I don't know anything about the station location from your cruise port or how often the trains run.   Right now the strikes in France could also have an impact.  Hopefully that will be settled before your trip.

Possible to do, yes. Recommended, no. The station is less than 10 minutes walking from the dock. The train trip is about 15 minutes long each way, but it runs every half hour, so worst case, you spend 1 1/2 hrs just getting there and back. But that doesn't account for the time to tender each way or the time required to wait for the next available tender. Even if you by some miracle got the first available tender, you would have precious little time in Monaco.

An alternative, if you like stately homes and beautiful gardens, would be the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild , a 5 minute taxi ride away in Cap Ferrat

Mom says has an excellent idea. But check the opening times of the Villa Ephrussi to make sure the time is right to get back for your tour.

But you might want to look for a tour starting in the morning that takes you first to Nice, then to Eze and then to Monaco.  Nice is best in the morning because the Flower Market closes for the day around noon time.

On a long port day, you would still have time to wander around Villefranche or maybe go to the Villa Ephrussi after the tour.
