Boarding in Trieste

Will be flying into Marco Polo a few days pre-cruise and spending a few days in Venice.

Our flights are not thru NCL.

Can we purchase transfers from Marco Polo to Trieste from NCL? Or are these transfers limited to passengers who purchased their air travel thru NCL?

With luggage and everything else, I'm thinking it would be simpler to go back to the airport and board the bus at Marco Polo that try to sling luggage on a train to Trieste.

Transfers are not limited to NCL Air customers. Call and ask if they are available. It is easier than trying to navigate a train with your luggage.

If you can get a direct train, it has got to be the easiest. Check timetables on web. If you have overpacked, learn where to dump excess bags at end of car. Otherwise I think you might get stuck with an expensive water shuttle to airport which may be no fun to load bags into/from. Then a land shuttle from boat dock to chaotic airport, then ...

Even if you get a land bus to the airport, departure spot is less handy than the train. Do the train at least as a learning experience. It is supremely civilized and convenient (well, just beforehand check if they are have scheduled a 1 day strike).

The bus and train are certainly budget friendly,  I took the train to Trieste precruise and used FlixBus to Venice airport post cruise. Both were about 15E and took 2 hrs.

But, keep in mind that i's about a 20 minute walk to the pier from thepier bus and train stations in Trieste. (they're within a block of each other.)  Easily do-able if you can easily manage your luggage or it's not a rainy miserable day.  Otherwise it can be a long wait for a taxi when a few thousand others all arrive at the same time.
