Order Balcony Breakfast on board?

Can the Balcony Breakfast be ordered once onboard?  We’re looking at doing so on Panama Canal transit day.  We’re also in a suite, so maybe we could order room service off the main menu — but the tablecloth and iced split of champagne sure looks good!

Yes you can. Just call RS when you board and tell them the date and time you would like your DBB.  They do a nice job for the breakfast.  They set it up and then leave.

Try the UBD sometime, if you haven’t already.  The dinner is superb.  The last one we did at Moorea, during the sail away.  3 waiters attended to us for the complete dinner.  Fabulous!

not to turn this into 'another tipping thread'... but we are hoping to do the UBD on our fall cruise and was wondering what an 'appropriate' tip might be for that service

Depends whether you really need the tablecloth and champagne…maybe we are just ‘cheap’, but..you can just order breakfast from room service and open the bottle of Champagne you carried onboard ????

If you are ‘nice’ to the delivery person, they will explain you can add additional items to those on the actual menu that is provided. Depends what you are looking for but we had omelettes, additional fruit etc.

We usually have room service breakfast on all port days to avoid the scramble of the buffet. We have found it to suit our needs as they will put it on the balcony if you wish and the delivery chap we had on our last cruise was amazing.

Obviously you need to tip.

Our only ‘issue’ was placing the trays on the floor outside the cabin..(back issues.)

Well, it does include the gratuity, but we do tip additional for the UBD. We gave the tip to the head waiter and asked him to split it with the other 2.
