MudderBear Posted May 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2023 Will be debarking in Rome on a Princess Cruise. Want to spend one night in Italy, and then head to the airport the folllowing morning. Which "Princess Cruise" is the best as far as location to "be a tourist" and then "get to the airport". I'm thinking maybe the Best Western Royal Santina because it is right across from the train station (note, this will be for next spring 2024). The other hotels are Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge and then Hotel Savoy and finally The Regency Rome. Past experience and guidance would be wonderfully appreciated. CruiserBruce Posted May 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2023 There are MANY threads here on Rome hotels. There is even a Sticky at the top if the page about hotels. Or are you saying Princess is offering you a choice of hotels? As far as the airport, there is a Hilton in the airport. Nice hotel, recommended here frequently.

Can you clarify -- you are looking only at hotels offered through Princess? You'll be paying a premium for that....
-Lew- Posted May 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2023 As a former Princess cruiser with 500+ cruise days, I can tell you we never purchased pre or post cruise hotels stays from them. You, too, can do much better by booking a hotel on your own. Rather than stay near Termini, consider one located in an area roughly bordered by Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. There will be plenty to see with walking distance and wonderful restaurants for lunch and dinner. Book a transfer to the airport with RomeCabs or another excellent transfer service for the following morning.
