Carnival Updated Benefits - Check if you don't know

So there was just a big long thread on someone criticizing Carnival about missing out on their free stuff.   There was a lot of back and forth about being notified/not being notified.

I just noticed, if you go into your account and look under benefits, they have actually updated this and it tells you specifically where to go for things like:

Water

Pin

Gifts

Chocolate Delight

Etc.

So, for those that were unsure, or have their nose out of place because they weren't specifically instructed, this is where it is at now (and obviously is a permanent situation post covid).

Questions, as both hubby and I turn platinum on our next cruise. I assume we both get the 3 bags of laundry? So 6 total? And the “chocolate delight” (which I know some people have a problem with) we both get one, so can order at separate times? TIA

Yes to both, you get double the benefits.

Just make sure you clarify when you call to order your chocolate delight you want one now and you will get the other later.

And make sure you put the correct folio number on your laundry to allocate 3 to each of you.

Hubby and I do it all the time, though I usually just get both chocolate delights at the same time.  I eat the strawberries pretty much right away, and the other items he eats and we will just cover and save the rest if we can't get to for a day or so.  There is only a couple pieces on each plate so it isn't much.  We have even managed to eat it one sitting.

and there is also a sheet with a QR code on it in your cabin.

I only took advantage of the gift and pin, and of course the $25 free play in the casino.

On our two cruises last year, one cabin had no QR code and in the other cabin, the QR code did not work.

So the QR code isn't an absolute and not everybody walks around glued to a cell phone or has one. (I know I'll leave mine home again this December)

As Platinum they also send you an e-mail prior to your cruise telling you how / when to claim your goodies.

Not always.  I think that is hit or miss.  I haven't received an email on my benefits in the last 2 cruises.  I received the "Know before you Go" info, but nothing about my benefits.

I think they may not be doing this since it is now published and established policy.  At best it is hit or miss.  Which is why I started this post when I saw they actually had changed it on the benefits page. A LOT of people on another thread said they were not notified at all in any way.

As bguppies said, not always a QR code.

The QR code, emails prior to cruising and the hard copy letter in your room are all hit or miss.

The only concrete definitive place to find this info is now on the website under benefits (which is why I started this post).

I guess I'm lucky.  6 post-pandemic cruises and I've gotten the e-mail every time.

Ya, doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason.  Leave in 2 days and no email.  January cruise no email.

Now I did get them last year on the 4 cruises we did, seemed to have stopped after the start of the year for me.

We asked for cookies instead of chocolate delight. Those cookies arrived warm and were a much better option for us.

I'll turn platinum on our upcoming cruise. I did not know swapping out for cookies was an option.   We've have the chocolate delight before and were not impressed.

How does the $25 casino money work? Is it automatically added to your S&S card?

Just go to the casino cage and claim it. Theyll ask if you are playing slots or tables. We play the slots so they add it to our cards. Never said tables so not sure if they just give you chips

I play tables.  They used to give cash but the last 2 cruises I have received $25 in chips. They were both on Freedom.  I don't know if it depends on the ship or not?  Either way it's 25 bucks.  Just go to the cage and ask for it! 😀

We've been handed $25 on all our cruises so far.

It depends on which ship you're sailing. I was told not all ships can give it as a credit due to the accounting program/system used, e.g. on the Miracle it is cash and on the Panorama it is a credit.

On the Mardi Gras April 22-29 cruise, we did not have any information as to where to get our items. We are Gold, so we get the 2 bottles of water and a pin. We got the bottles of water at a bar and the pins are at Pixels. I scanned the code but it didn't inform me as to where to go. I asked guest services about the pins, just to be sure it was Pixels.

Love the “noses out of place”. My mother used to say this and I’ve not heard it in years.  Brought a smile to my face, thank you.
