Barbados airport queuing

Last time I flew home from Barbados, the ships coach dropped us off and the queue to enter the airport was extremely long . Standing in a queue in the blazing sun for over an hour just to get to the entrance was horrendous. There was nowhere to sit and people were fainting. Can anyone tell me if things have changed in the last two years or what was their experience. thank you,  kev

I think even outdoors the roof was covered when we went.

Now they keep you on the coaches until the queue is ok in the airport

 

Getting through security went quickly

 

Getting on the plane when they call your flight is a very short distance but a bit chaotic. Queues cutting through other queues for other flights etc

 

As the airport isn't really big enough for all the guests

We take one of the farewell excursions and that normally arrives before most of the transfers by about 20 minutes for the Gatwick flight. Never queued in the past 7 years as a result.  The excursion though isn't much good if your flight is a late one.  New option December 2022 was to go to the beach club rather than a tour of the island. Good facilities with showers etc and we will do this again.
