Yes, that is really early to end comedy (especially on sea days).

Yeah and I’ll tell you why. It’s because they use that space for the nightclub at 11. That’s something that started on vista class which is where they eliminated the dedicated nightclub. Vista was where they started doing the late night showcases in the main lounge. Why they aren’t doing it on this ship? I don’t know. I thought they were doing them on every ship now.

Which ship?  There is a difference within the fleet, similar to the differences between the various ships in the NCL and RCI fleets.

I was on Triumph in 2001 & it was the most boring trip ever. I haven't been on Carnival since. Been on many NCL ships & love them (especially Encore), but I got a really good deal for Venezia next April so I'm trying CCL again. I hope it's better than it was 22 years ago.

It was either earlier than that or it wasn’t Triumph. Triumph hasn’t been Triumph since 2019. It was a very basic type ship but I think they added a lot with the sunrise upgrade. I was on it twice back in the 2016-2017 timeframe. It had guys burgers and blue iguana so it was a huge upgrade over elation for me…back then. I wouldn’t be impressed with 2017 triumph today.

I’m going to be very interested to see how they handle football season on this ship. I remember panorama’s hero’s bar being packed. Standing room. And they had the pig & anchor showing games. No pig and anchor here. I think they need to make that big frizzante tv that just says frizante show games.

My last cruise was a superbowl cruise. When I think that through, I watched the first half from water works. Can’t do that here. The screen is low and facing the wrong direction and the the retractable roof would be in the way.

Theres a lot of seating in deck 10 and 11 but most of them you can’t see the screen from because of the fancy walls and over hangs and the bar.

3rd quarter i watched in the theater which would be fine here. 4th quarter I walked past a full casino bar…don’t have here…to the red frog pub..don’t have here..which is where I watched the 4th quarter. For the superbowl they have to make the fizante tv a superbowl tv and the screen in the punchliner a superbowl tv imo.

I have seen Jonathon on three different cruises and would line up to see him again. Great entertainer and changes the show a little each time

I just noticed it says 2001 not 2021. I can’t even imagine what cruising was like in 2001. I know my sister went on an older ship around then and hated it. But I think that would’ve been like a holiday class ship that she was on. So I would think triumph would be better than that. So much has probably changed in 20 years.

I'll get to see how they handle the football games here for three weeks starting September 23rd

All of that is a big contributor to why I canceled my Venezia sailing.  Perhaps I'll do it in January.  In the meantime, Oasis, here I come in the Fall.

I was on the Triumph's 3rd cruise in 1999, and back on in 2002, both out of New York to Canada. Cruises back then were fun! Guess that's why we still sail on Carnival. Major difference between now and then are the expanded food choices and the Comedy. The thing I remember from the 1999 cruise is them rolling out the self debarkation. 😎

I had fun even on elation in 2014-2016. 5-day cruises and I used to close down the comedy club, then the night club, then the casino. Didn’t know what alchemy was back then.

I used to drink 15 Guinness. They’d have that late night Mexican buffet and I’d load up and be eating Mexican for breakfast the next morning.

But times have changed. My standards have been raised. And I’m not staying up until 3am anymore.

Sounds familiar. For a couple of years Carnival had both a midnight and 2am buffet. The 2am buffet was set up adjacent to the casino and drew in the gamblers. 🙂

The one I did was probably midnight. It was on lido in the “off the grill” spot which is now guys and it would just be nachos and tacos and tostados and enchiladas and tostadas…I’d just pile it on and take it tot the room. Eat some before bed and some in the morning.

Then nights when they didn’t have that I’d always get pizza. That was the old menu that had what they called pan. But it wasn’t a pan. But the toppings were sausage, onion, green pepper. I loved that pizzza.

I get up to the dining room. Yes! A nice orderly line. Then just as I get to the front a big group gets off of the elevator. Do they get in line behind me? No they stand next to me. To try to get seated before me. It’s so annoying

Mardi Gras in 2021 had a lot of comedy. Then when they got to full capacity they realized their clubs were too small and started doing more repeats.

Celebration actually didn’t have that much. It was one pg show repeated 4 times. One adult show repeated 4 times and the showcase at night.

Not happy to hear Celebration has limited comedy, that's been one of my favorite things about Carnival. Well it can't be as bad as last NCL cruise. Only 2 comedians that rotated the whole 9 nights. Would have been tolerable if they had been remotely funny.

Also the venue they performed in was a small room with hard, straight wooden chairs lined up row after row right next each other, was as bad as plane seats. I hope you have a much better situation on your cruise🤞

They got seated across the aisle from me. When the waiter asked if they wanted coffee one lady said “oh yes it’s so horrible up on lido.” She’s in for a big surprise. It’s day 13 and she hasn’t figured out dining room coffee sucks just as much as lido coffee…

Now one of them is watching videos at the table. No headphones. Just so everyone can hear it. I need to start carrying my headphones more so I can tune this stuff out.
