MSC Casino - Free Cruise Program

Hello Everyone!

I sailed my first MSC cruise ever in March and had a Yacht Club Interior.  On my final morning I had a folder from the Casino placed on my bed which offered a free Ocean View room for a sailing up to 10 days in length.  I contacted the casino and had this upgrade to a Yacht Club Deluxe Balcony for an August sailing.  On my booking I see "Pax Type: Casino Free Cruise Program".  Does anyone have experience on a sailing under the Casino vouchers and if they have any specific fun casino events which may be offered during the cruise under this type of fare?  Thank you!

We also have an upcoming cruise booked using a casino voucher. Ours was 30% off but we used it on a YCI as well.

As of yet, we have not been contacted by the casino about any special events/activities on board surrounding the casino but we may be too far out yet for an 8/6 sailing. However, I am currently on Seaside and have spent a lot of time in the casino thus far. It stinks IMO… literally and figuratively. The area is SUPER hot. No air movement at all so the smoke is heavy. Even the casino hostess was talking about the heat. And the space is very small. Too many people cramped into a tight space of mostly the same type of slot machine.

We have sailed a few times on Cruise Certificates earned on a previous cruise.  Do not expect too much from the casino.  It really is dependent on the host.  When we had Lucky Lynn she was great.  A welcome gift and checked in a lot during the cruise.  The next cruise we had a horrible temp host.  The following cruise the host was decent but he was very busy since it seemed like a lot of casino certificate people were on board.

Does anyone know if they keep any records of being offered a free cruise?  I had earned enough casino points onboard to get the free cruise but didn't pick up the paper onboard.

They are usually VERY tight about you having the paper.

Aside from the discount certificate that we usually get on about the 4th night, on the last night they give you a paper for  certain amount of casino cash on your next cruise. They do not advertise that much.

If you got the discount coupon, you will also get the cash one. They wait until the last night to base the amount on your play for the entire cruise.  It is a game they play ! If you are not in the casino the last night...no $$ paper   :O(

Our next one is in August. I will get $400. cash at the casino cashier with that.

You MUST have that paper or no $$.

Just hit the “free” cruise point accumulation and can confirm @Shippy’s assessment regarding the casino host being tight lipped about the voucher process. Even though I hit the required amount tonight, I must be present on the final night to claim my voucher. @smile145, I’m not feeling too optimistic about your voucher being issued after debarkation but I’d definitely give the casino dept a call. It can’t hurt.

I would like to do this as well. Would you mind shedding some light on how they priced the YC as it relates to the free cruise voucher?  Did the simply subtract the value of the voucher from the YC category you selected?  Or something else.

At this point my “free” cruise has cost me more than my current cruise in the YC so I’m not sure how much more I’d want to pay.

Of course.  My upcoming sailing is MSC Fantasia in August out of Kiel, Germany.  I contacted the MSC Casino number on my voucher and asked if the Free Room was upgradable to which they confirmed.  To upgrade from the Sea View to YC Deluxe Balcony was a flat $3k which I paid then ad the booking was made/confirmed.

To the earlier person who mentioned having to request the paper, I actually didn't even know of the Casino perks my entire trip in March.  I know the Casino host on MSC Virtuosa was a fun and engaging individual who checked on me a lot after a couple days of gaming.  Great conversation and while in the Casino, they kept drinks flowing to me and were all great conversationalists.  I was packed and ready to go the night before disembarkation and after stepping out for some late night drinks came back to the free cruise voucher along with a sweet note from the Casino host on it thanking me for the conversations throughout the cruise.  If I had not gotten the folder and free cruise voucher, I would have never known about it, so perhaps there I was fortunate...

We always get the 30% off coupon. Here is why I say they have the best casino club at sea... Any other cruise line makes you book through their casino dept.

MSC lets you make the booking. So...

I call my favorite internet agency & book through them. I think MSC is pretty much priced fixed but my TA always though in things like OBC prepaid gratuities, etc.

When I get the booking number, I call MSC casino department, give it to them & they apply the 30% discount.....sweet.

They used to allow that towards ALL categories so once we got a YC3.

They stopped that but still allow the other YC categories....at least for now    :O)

Last week on the Msc cruise, I earned enough casino points to get a free cruise and also received onboard discount vouchers from the casino on the fourth night. On the last night, I went to the casino to play and cashed out my winnings, but no one gave me any physical documents. Does this mean I didn't receive the FCC? (I made a small profit from playing in the casino this time, not sure if this would affect my eligibility for the FCC from the MSC casino?)

Look for email 2-3 weeks after you get back...will have all the details on your offer

How much do you have to spend at the casino roughly to get these benefits?

Its not how much you spend... its how much you gamble.... you need to gamble around $30k in a slot machine

Those two things are the same thing for me 😉 Never win.

I've heard that cruise ship slot machines are unregulated and have very low return rates?
