Roulette is generally $5 but one table often has a $10 minimum. Minimum price for 1 chip is $1. Sorry we don't play anything else but I think Black Jack might be $8. Lillibet16 Posted June 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2023 Blackjack and Craps were $10 minimums on our last few cruises.

The lowest minimum table for blackjack on last Nov's Constellation cruise was $10. However a natural blackjack paid out only 6;5. You had to play at the $25 tables to get the traditional 3:2 payout. Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted June 11, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2023 Besides occasionally roulette at $5, most tables have a $10 minimum. 3:2 BJ is usually $25 and occasionally $50. You have to reach out to the casino about a week before the sail date for them to open the baccarat table. I was surprised to see it open on my last Beyond sailing and the minimum was $
Carried_Away Posted June 11, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2023 I just got off the Summit. As others have said, there were 6:5 blackjack tables with $10 minimum. Two tables offered 3:2 for $25 minimum. The craps minimum was $25, which surprised me. I believe I've seen $10 or maybe $15 craps on previous Celebrity cruises. Three-card poker was $10.

Andrewgary Posted June 13, 2023 #11 Share Posted June 13, 2023 $25 minimum on craps? Was that all the time or were there times they lowered it to $10? No way I'm gonna play $25 minimum.
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted June 13, 2023 #12 Share Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) I'm guessing with craps, $10 may be the minimum during the day and $25 at night. I don't play craps so never paid attention but that's what some other tables do Edited June 13, 2023 by NutsAboutGolf
DingoMom Posted June 13, 2023 #13 Share Posted June 13, 2023 They don’t ever open the Craps table during the day. No way would I play a $25 minimum. Can anybody else share what the Craps minimum was on your last X cruise?

piemom9397 Posted June 15, 2023 #15 Share Posted June 15, 2023 Holy smokes, I hope it's not normally a $25 minimum. On the Apex in December it was a $10 minimum.
DingoMom Posted June 15, 2023 #16 Share Posted June 15, 2023 I know! As late as March, on the Summit and on the Apex, it was a $10 minimum. Hoping that a recent cruiser can comment!
Hrhbob Posted June 16, 2023 #17 Share Posted June 16, 2023 In December on Solstice craps was $10 with 3-4-5 odds and three card was $10. Didn’t play any BJ but I think it was 6/5 at $10 and 3/2 at $25 as stated above.

It lowers the odds of winning to the point that it’s just a sideshow, carnival game. It’s a ripoff.

Here is a link to a recent Wall Street Journal article about the fat profits that Las Vegas casinos are making and why: Why You're Losing More to Casinos on the Las Vegas Strip A few noteworthy things to me in the article: 1. More than two thirds of the BJ tables pay out 6:5 2. Triple Zero roulette wheels are making an appearance. 3. There is a brief explanation (below the green bar graph) that talks about the origin of 6:5. The article goes on to say that the casinos are trying to bring in the upscale gamblers and that they are already full. So the unfavorable rules are applied to kick out the low end customers.

That’s a good article and right on the money. There are some of the higher end Vegas Strip casinos that have 6:5 payouts on anything under a $100 minimum on weekends. That’s why I haven’t gambled on the strip in 7 years or so. When we go to Vegas now, it’s always with the intention of gambling downtown.
SpongeAlan Posted June 17, 2023 #21 Share Posted June 17, 2023 The 6:5 BJ really sucks, but its not going to stop me on my upcoming cruise. I play so little, maybe once every 2-3 years, the 6:5 vs 3:2 will not effect me greatly. The difference on $500 BJ wins is $600 vs $750 payouts. Not enough to keep me away. If I have a good 1st or 2nd day, i will probably be at the $25 table with the 3:2 anyway. (I hope!)

SpongeAlan Posted June 17, 2023 #23 Share Posted June 17, 2023 I was referring to a week of gambling on a cruise. I usually bet $20-$25 per hand as well. I think we agree.
