Reykjavik: Where to store luggage?

Will be debarking (around 7am) in Reykjavik in Aug via cruise ship.

There's a free shuttle to the Opera House from pier.

 

Our flight isnt till 5pm.

Where can we store our luggage so we can explore the city?

Many hotels may store bags for a fee

I considered this for a while but ultimately decided that relying on an available locker at the bus terminal was too uncertain for me. I'm traveling with a group of 8. If it was just me or my wife and me, we would take the chance. I ended up springing for a private car that will drive us around all day, hold our luggage then take us to the airport. Cost is about $700 but with 8 people, it makes sense. It might not make financial sense for fewer peoeple.

We stored our luggage in the lockers at Traðarkot Car Park downtown.
