Eclipse vs Summit

I did NYE on Summit year before last.  We thought the revolutionized upgrades were meaningful and the ship was in beautiful condition.  I also liked the smaller ship in the sense that it seemed more intimate.

We sailed Eclipse a few years ago and I have another sailing on it later this year.  Not revolutionized, which does make a difference, but also a newer ship than Summit and it should still be in nice condition.  Obviously, it's a bit larger and also has more venues versus Summit.

Even though the ships are obviously different, I'd consider it basically a wash.  However, I'd prefer Eclipse to an older non-revolutionized ship, such as Infinity.

Have had three cruises on Eclipse.  The last was May 21st of this year. We found her to sorely in need of rehab. We have booked her again for 2024, in spite of its condition, because it is the only choice going to Bermuda.  We were in a sad aft concierge cabin in May.  We have upgraded to Aqua to hopefully having better cabin conditions. Love the ships size and staff was fantastic!

I will be on Infinity very soon, and I am a little bit concerned about it. I believe it’s the oldest ship in their fleet, or certainly one of the oldest, and I am guessing that the condition is worse than Eclipse.  I understand that there were financial challenges during the pandemic, but I hope that Celebrity will soon be able to bring some of their older ships back up to their usual standard.

Celebrity may have to start a ***** account to pay for the revolution if their test program fails by allowing vaping in the casinos to help generate lost revenue. Oooops.  😁
