Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted July 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2023 There was an article in the Guardian recently that has caused a lot of worry on several other Cruise Critic forums: Amsterdam to close cruise ship terminal amid effort to restrict tourism [pay wall] picked up by BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66264226 I waited to post here until the impact on river cruising became clearer. Good thing: the entire article turns out to be the usual click bait fear-mongering. Here is an update that explains the recent Amsterdam city council action: So it appears that: (a) nothing will change for several years [this is starting to sound like the Venice opera...] and (b) it may not affect river cruises at all [but like Venice, we can't count on the final decision taking account of logical things like ship size]
