I j just wanted to take a moment to point everyone here toward a superior travel blog written by one of our posters here.  It's Themodernpostcard.com by Mary O.  On her blog, she is writing commentary accompanied by fabulous photography of the recent Copenhagen to Copenhagen itinerary we shared with her in June.  I think most of you will really enjoy following along with  two installments so far.  https://www.themodernpostcard.com/alesund-norway-dreamy-art-nouveau-town-on-the-norwegian-sea/

Thank you for sharing this.  We embark Sunday week so it has whetted my appetite!

Lofoten is particularly of interest to me because I listen to a sleep podcast by Erik Braa 'The Nordland Night Train' and he talks of Lofoten and creates such a magical picture.

OH!  I'm going to have to find that podcast. The idea of a a Nordland Night Train is fascinating.   It is a magical place.  What is interesting is that even though we were on the same cruise, we had very different daily experiences (for the most part) from Mary.  I am finding her posts on her wonderful blog to be very interesting.

Yes, Mary's blog is wonderful and great pictures.

I used to listen to it to send myself to sleep, he has such a mesmerising voice, I usually lasted minutes before I dropped off, so had to properly listen during the day!    It's on an app called 'Calm' but the 'Norland Night Train' is also on youtube. He's done a few about Norway, I think I've got the right one, I've listened to all of his on Calm.

Just to whet your appetite a bit further about the Lofoten Islands,  here's a photo I took the day we were there.

@SLSDIt's incredibly kind of you to post this. Many thanks! The Modern Postcard is truly a labor of love, and I'm happy to share it with fellow travelers. This was a great cruise! I love what you said about how we were on the same cruise, but had different daily experiences. It's a testament to the diversity of travel in Norway as well as the variety of excursions offered by Seabourn. Over the next couple of weeks, I will have stories and photos from every port and am happy to answer any questions others may have about our experiences on the Ovation and travel in Norway.
