doone Posted July 31, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2023 (edited) Thought I'd come here to see if this is possible. Friends of mine are booked on a transatlantic to Europe, back to back cruise. They called Ships Services to book a cabana on the Rotterdam for the first leg of the cruise only and were told they needed to book the cabana for the entire cruise, which they don't want. Has anyone been able to book a cabana on a back to back cruise for only the first leg? If they were to cancel and book 2 separate cruises, could that be a work around or not? thanks in advance.... If 2, it shouldn't be a problem. however, if they booked both cruises under the same number then the system may see their cruise as the full length of both that could have been booked separately. That *is* the issue. One booking number for their B2B means HAL is marketing it as either one collectors cruise or two individual cruises, and they're booked on the collectors cruise and so can't do an add-on for just part of it. It’s not the money but rather the weather as the last leg is around Norway end of April beginning of May and they figure they won’t use the cabana. That also means that once you start the first cruise, you are blocked from booking shore excursions on the second segment. On board shore excursion staff can't book beyond the current cruise. And you can't book online because you already have started your cruise under the booking number. Meanwhile, people on only the second segment (who haven't gotten on the ship yet) can book away online, frequently filling the excursions. So the bottom line is to book any excursions online, especially for the second segment, before three days before the cruise starts. cruisepro19 Posted August 9, 2023 #11 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Hi doone, We did 2 back to back cruises in September 2022 and booked a cabana for the second cruise only (separate booking number). It was no issue, but did have to commit to that entire cruise. HAL staff did state that if there were any remaining available, they could do "day" rentals. We splurged on this on the Niew Statendam on the East Coast cruise and LOVED being spoiled. Although the weather was cool, it was a quiet spot to read of book, be delivered a coffee or hot chocolate from the amazing staff, comfy loungers and blankets for those cool days, and use of the Cabana Area Hot Tub!
