Customs in FP (not the airport kind)

For all of you that have travelled frequently in Tahiti, might you let me know of any local customs we should be respectful of that the locals appreciate.

For example, in the USVI you always say "good morning", "good afternoon" or "good night" before you ask any question (so if you are looking for ketchup in a grocery store you would approach someone, say good morning, wait for them to reply and then ask "can you tell me where to find the ketchup please") and you would always say this also upon entering a store, a Dr's office, an elevator, a taxi, a classroom etc (I get looks when I get in an elevator in the States and say good morning out loud upon stepping in 😂)

I tried to search for customs in FP online but it only took me to customs at the airport.

Thank you

The customs you mention sound very French ["bon jour"], so I think that will go over very well in FP.
