Portland all day or Kennebunkport

Our cruise ports in Portland from 7-5 and having trouble deciding.. would love to go to Kennebunkport but cruise ship reviews are not good as most say you only get to stay in town for 1 hour.  Should we just spend the day in Portland or is it worth the trip out to Kennebunkport. Cruise ship tour says 1-5 so not sure why you would only get one hour in town. We could get up early and spend 7 am until 1 in Portland then do the tour to Kennebunkport.  Never been to either places. Thanks for any advice.

Drive time to Kennebunkport is about 60-75 minutes each way. You'll spend about 2 1/2 just traveling.  There's plenty to due in the port area, food, breweries, and walking around Old Port.
