Rare gnome12 Posted August 31, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2023 On my Norwegian cruise next June, I noticed that Silversea has changed one of our ports from Trømso to Alta. When I check on My Silversea, I only see "spa" and "restaurant" information for that date, with no "ashore" button. In your experience, how soon are we likely to see excursions posted. (I think that Alta may be a completely new port for Silversea, but I'm not sure.)
carefreecruise Posted September 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Your over thinking it. Your cruise is 10 months away. Just keep checking every two weeks to a month to see if anything is posted. It sometimes could be nothing till you board the ship. So no one on this boars can tell you the exact date.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted September 1, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Completely new ports take longer for the shore excursions to post, because the shorex people don't have archives to work from. All new vendors, all new contracts.
Rare jpalbny Posted September 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2023 It's hard to predict - agree w/ carefreecruise. If it's a port that they are familiar with they might add excursions quickly but if it's uncharted territory - who knows. Keep checking. Silversea's web presence can be clunky and unpredictable; fortunately, the onboard experience is much better.
Rare gnome12 Posted September 1, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted September 1, 2023 I think it is because I have nothing planned between now and then, so I spend a little more time obsessing.
Rare david63 Posted September 1, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2023 When some ports were changed recently for a cruise booked for next year the new excursions were available about two weeks after we were notified of the change.
