DTO Posted September 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2023 From the deck of Serenity at midnight, Monday September 4, 2023. We couldn’t book an excursion to view the Aurora Borealis because we were told it’s likely too early in the season. At the conclusion of the 9:30 comedy show, cruise director Rick announced that the captain thought the conditions to view the lights could be promising around midnight! 12
ctjon Posted September 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2023 Great article in NY Times about all the great lagoons in Iceland - if you're going there read the article and go. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/05/travel/iceland-hot-springs.html?smid=em-share

Rare Keith1010 Posted September 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2023 Thanks for sharing this. I've seen a number of photos from other guests and crew and Captain Vincent was right about the conditions for sure. Keep enjoying the cruise. Rare PaulMCO Posted September 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2023 (edited) There was a huge geomagnetic storm earlier in the week. Conditions are still unsettled. Chance of another flare is 54% -- that is today's Space Weather 🙂 Edited September 6, 2023 by PaulMCO

This is Emdee’s DD and she will be joining you on the upcoming crystal cruise and hoping to see them again. We just came off the old crystal endeavor(now silversea) and saw them September 3rd on the way to iceland. The time we saw them best was around 10:30-11:30pm and lucky it was not cloudy. i have attached two of our pics from my iphone.
