Arancini had a nice spicy kick in the sauce. So did the cured tuna. I enjoyed the taste of both.

And do I dare say, the presentation was pretty nice on both dishes.

I thought about ordering the meatball instead of the tuna but the waiter said they weren't good tonight. Appreciate the heads up and shame on Nonna.

For mains I got linguine vongole and Veal marsala 844.

Got a little downtime since my mom wants to do a late dinner tonight. So let's do some catching up on port days My memory is already getting fuzzy but I will do the best I can to accurately articulate my time in port.

My first port of call with the QE was a stop in Toulon, France.

We were docked, but there was nothing in the immediate area so Cunard provided a water shuttle to take us into the city proper.

This was at 9:45, nearly two hours after arriving in port, and the line strechted almost back to the ship.

The lady in charge of the line was quite aggressive about keeping the line tight and didn't seem to understand when people started arguing with her that they can't keep moving forward if the people ahead were not moving forward. She just kept repeating to move forward.

The beautiful QE.

Thinking about this, I wonder why Cunard didn’t use their own tenders to supplement the inadequate shuttle service.

Nice looking theatre

Carnival 's older ships have real nice theaters. Their newer ships they keep getting smaller and smaller. The better shows worth seeing are on the newer ships and you spend half your night stalking a seat or having a pole in your view.

Thanks for posting the menus.  Makes me feel like I am still cruising.

Would you believe I had to make my own food last night?  I felt like a neanderthal.

That sounds terrible 😕 😳

It was also crew drill day, abandon ship if I recall, so the crew and tenders were otherwise engaged unfortunately.

Really trying to do more comedy I just hate having to show up so early and sit and the bar seating is uncomfortable for me.

Here 15 minutes early but when I've peaked in the 1030 show seems quiet, most people on the journey cruises are sleeping by then so I'll take note and see and maybe I can start making the late show at the last minute.

Ship is getting rocky again.

1030 tons of open seats. Host says love and marriage just ending so they are going to wait five minutes a storm of people would be here.

She wasn't kidding, this will be SRO by the time the show starts. Guess I really do need to show up early still bummer.

Jill Kimmel R18+ starting now.

Jill was ok. Got a few good laughs in.

I'm back in the room now and winding down for the night.

We gain an hour tonight and so for the first time in weeks, I will not be six hours ahead of eastern time. This will be the first of seven time changes. I am all for some 25 hour days!

Goodnight everyone.

I discovered that Roku Live Tv has a channel of nothing but reruns of the Great British Bake Off.  I watched all evening yesterday.  So many "celebrity" bake offs, I haven't seen.

I was inspired to watch today also. I hadn’t completed Season 10, so I am setting that as a goal as I hand quilt a 90” X 90” quilt. (If you don’t know, that is a really, really big quilt). I saw the controversial Mexican themed show. Oh, my.

Linguine? I don’t think so. Linguine is flat, but I’m glad the flavor was to your liking. I thought the presentation of the arancini and the tuna was the best so far. It’s hard to make Veal Marsala in a situation where you’re serving a lot of people. It has to be cooked perfectly and served immediately. Look like you had a pretty good day for food. Loved all of your pictures of Toulon and sad to hear you were treated rudely.

I have not yet begun the new season.  Looking forward to it.

Did the kitchen cut the linguine into pieces? Hmm..not very Italian.

Good morning everyone.

We are now just five hours ahead of EST. One hour behind CEST.

Today is a sea day en route to Las Palmas.

The only plans I have so far is the diamond lunch at noon and walk a mile with Andy but there is plenty to do, or nothing to do if you feel like it. I'm leaning towards the latter 😀

My mom noted the same. It was really just spaghetti.

I'm not usually a fan of veal but this is usually pretty good. We came late so it makes sense it was a little off, I'm sure it probably sat too long before it got to me.

No they definitely missed the mark on authenticity 😆
