Rare PurpleHays Posted October 4, 2023 #26 Share Posted October 4, 2023 We just booked a December cruise after the final payment day. Shortest we've ever booked. I'm gonna guess the ship is full since there were only *three* non-guarantee balconies available. DH and I both thought it was crazy expensive, but booked it anyway. Got an email about bidding on upgrades--all suites. I guess there are a few empties. We have a Northern Lights booked and there's been a price drop, but not enough to bother my TA (less than $100). Rare sprint180 Posted October 4, 2023 #27 Share Posted October 4, 2023 Yes it seems to be getting quite expensive. I love to cruise but I may be switching to other vacations. I sure love cruising though.
Rare Cruise till you drop Posted October 4, 2023 #28 Share Posted October 4, 2023 Our secret is “book early and get fixed price”. I know people book hoping for fare reductions but I think this is a different world. We know what we can afford and book based on that. On our March Celebrity Panama Canal cruise, we booked it more than 2 years in advance and when we got to within 3-4 months of the cruise, lower grade cabins were going for 50% more than what we paid. Pickels Posted October 4, 2023 #29 Share Posted October 4, 2023 At least, if you book early, you have a great chance of getting the cabin you want, wait and the selection may not be as available.
Rare mrell345 Posted October 4, 2023 #30 Share Posted October 4, 2023 If they are going to jack up the prices and make us have to pay for stuff that was included before we might as well move over to Silver Sea.
