Rental car dropoff

We are flying in the day before our cruise.  We will be renting a car at the airport (Fort Lauderdale).  Is there somewhere to drop-off the rental at the cruiseport? We are leaving from Fort Lauderdale.   If not, are there rental places nearby that will shuttle you to cruiseport?

The airport is very close to the port so easy taxi ride to the port from the rental drop.

No car rental company at FLL provides free shuttle service from the Rental Car Center over to Port Everglades. That service was discontinued years ago. A cab from Level One over to Port Everglades will cost you less than twenty dollars plus tip and takes less than fifteen minutes. A few car rental companies had at one time offices located near the entrances to Port Everglades where you could return or pick up a vehicle. They mostly closed during the Covid Pandemic and never reopened.

Also, many times while on the line at the taxi stand at FLL shuttle drivers will walk over and tell you that they have room in their vehicle for transportation over to Port Everglades. They will tell you it's twenty per person for their service. Tell them you aren't interested and wait for the cab.

There is a Budget/Avis rental car place at the port gates. I'm fairly certain I saw a few other companies in the vicinity as well but can't confirm their details or shuttle info.  This location will give you a free shuttle ride to the ship when you return the car there. I just did this in June.

The last and only time I tried to rent at the airport and then drop off at the port, Budget quoted me in excess of $300.00 for that privilege.

I used a taxi after returning the car to the airport.

In December, we rented a car from Avis at the Ft. Lauderdale airport and returned it at the cruise port location. They had a shuttle bus to give us a ride to the cruise port. We were the only ones on the shuttle and he dropped us off right in front of the terminal. It was a quick ride since this location is just outside the cruise port. It worked out perfectly. We were very pleased.
