Does anyone know how port taxes are handled with a 3rd person no show

Are you asking if they are refunded and if so how?

 

I have no experience of this but I would not expect any refund, after all the ship is still docking at the port and the port fees have to be paid.

Port fees are per person, the person won't be at the port

Just because they are shown per person does not mean that the fees will vary by the number of passengers on the ship. Ports charge a fee for the ship and as far as the port is concerned it matters not one bit as whether there are 1,000 or 3,000 passengers on that particular ship - the fees will be the same.

 

There is only one definitive answer and that would be the one from Princess - mine is just an opinion as to what I would expect to happen.

 

Also if there is a valid reason as to why the third person was unable to travel then the refund would surely come from the travel insurance.

IIRC, you had asked about her being a noshow as opposed to canceling the cruise.  What did the TA say to do?

 

I have always heard you have to cancel prior to the cruise, in order to get the port fees refunded. 

IDK know if this is correct.

 

The TA/CVP should know.
