Can YOU book a cruise??

Maybe they don’t want my money??

I’ve been trying since the website update to book a cruise but at some point in the process, it glitches and tells me they can’t process my request. I have erased cookies and wiped my browser history and done everything else my computer programmer/website developer husband can think to do with no progress. I have a PVP but processing things I hear is harder for me and I’d prefer to look at cabin location etc online.

My first choice cruise has sold out in the meantime. ☹️

Carnival did a software release a couple weeks ago and the site has been crap ever since.  It even has a disclaimer at the top explaining this.  I'm sure they are working on a new release that will fix the issues.

Your best bet is to just call Carnival and book it over the phone.  It's pretty quick and easy.

Have you tried calling your PVP? Pick out a cabin or two that you want on which ever cruise you are looking at then call in and get it booked. If you don't want to wait on your PVP then just call in and get any rep to book it for you. Maybe your 1st choice cruise isn't sold out after all. You won't know unless you call.

I’m going to call her tomorrow.

ALWAYS call your PVP first. They have changed the policy so that if you reserve a cabin online, they don't get credit for booking the cruise, and they can't help you with that booking once you do that.

Very nice! Is the itinerary the same all three weeks.

All 3 legs go to Celebration Key, Nassau and Bimini are the two additional ports, the 3 day is just Celebration. Booked only a couple days after announcing dates open for Celebration Key. It’s a 4-3-4 day cruise for only 11 days total.

Actually this isn’t completely true. I thought my PVP would get credit if I put it on hold but didn’t pay anything until I called him. When I called, he told me that he would not get credit since I put it on hold online, but he still helped me with making the payment and said if I need anything else for this cruise to feel free to contact him as I have done on previous cruises that I booked with him.

They can, but they don't have to.  If you book online and then contact the PVP, they are helping you for free.

I completely understand and agree. However the post that I responded to stated that the PVP couldn’t help in that case. They can, but as you pointed out, they certainly don’t have to.

And I would never ask my PVP to do work related to a cruise that they don't get credit for.

About 1/3rd of sailings give me the same error message you are seeing or something similar.  The other 2/3rds let's me mock book all the way to payment.  No idea what's going on but it's certainly annoying because I like to get a ton of options down on a spreadsheet before I make a decision.

Could you imagine call the cruise line and then not helping you?  That's detrimental to the company.  Plus it's bad business

PVPs are marketers who have sales targets to meet.  They might do it once as a courtesy for a current client who wasn't aware of the policy (which is relatively new), but the vast majority aren't going to provide service for cruises that they aren't getting credit for, nor should they.   That's what the general customer service line is for.

Ok.   They are there to also promote carnival cruise line.  You always assist the customer.🤦

That isn't always an option.  My PVP is only available M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm.  If I don't see a sale until the evening, weekend, or last day, I can't just wait for her to answer, especially if I want a particular cabin.

Another example was Black Friday 2019.  I booked a 12/1/19 cruise online less than 48 hours out on 11/29/19 after 5:00pm.  Someone canceled very last minute, so last minute that the in room papers and tv had their names on on it.  I was just looking for price drops on my 12/30/19 cruise.  I was able to choose an oceanview that wasn't under the galley for $199 per person($398 since I was solo).  Even if I had a PVP at the time, there was no time to call or even think about calling.  If I didn't book it immediately, someone else would have snatched it up.

I had similar issues trying to do mock bookings for October 2023 cruises out of Miami, Port Canaveral, and New Orleans using Chrome on my S21.  I had no problems getting past the residency page for November and December 2023.  I didn't try any other ports. I later tried using the Samsung browser on my phone, and I was able to get past the residency page on October 2023 cruises from those ports.

Booked a BTBTB same cabin for April 2026 Glory 9/30/23

When you do this, I know you get to leave your stuff in your room during the in-betweens, but do you have to get off the ship during the in-betweens?

Usually for like 5 mins. But it is literally a process. They have any B2Bs sit in a waiting area then they escort you through customs and back onto the ship.

Of course, you CAN get off the ship if you want to. They'll issue you a card that you use to get back onboard if you want to sightsee at whatever port for a few hours.

That is so cool. I can't wait for our first BTB. At this point though sadly it's still a dream. Lol
