LynnSD Posted October 31, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2023 Princess cruise ends in Whittier. Are there any wildlife cruises or similar activities to be had there? Or should we plan on getting to Seward for a couple of days? thanks.

Rare Coral Posted October 31, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) The 26 Glacier cruise is pretty good but I would also head to Seward there's more to do in Seward. Edited October 31, 2023 by Coral
Rare sambamama Posted November 6, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2023 You may want to also check prices of hotels. I looked and Anchorage is triple the cost of Whittier, I don't know about Seward. Lots of hikes in Whittier, and you can also take the Alaska Railroad. I'm staying in Whittier for a few days after my cruise and then taking the bus to start a 20 day land tour in Anchorage. Aquahound Posted November 7, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2023 I recommend the Phillips 26 glacier cruise. It was amazing. If not, and if you want to save a little dough, drive out of Whittier and take the Portage Glacier cruise. It's only an hour, and it's the only way to actually see the glacier.....well, short of a strenuous hike. There's much more to do in Seward.
