We are on the December 23rd sailing. Will be our first Christmas cruise, the wife just bought her Xmas pajamas, and getting her ugly Xmas sweater ready. Hope it's not canceled, looking forward to being able to go straight to our cabin being the first passengers on the ship should not need to wait until 1:30pm right?

We are platinum, but this will be the first sailing of a brand new ship, we will literally be the first passengers on the ship, the first ones to sleep in the bed, spend time in the cabin,  and first ones to gamble in the casino, ect.,ect. I'm wondering if we can board as soon as we check in, as thier will no passengers to disembark.

Yes, that should be the case.  Not the exact same situation but similar - we were on the Breeze's first sailing after the 15 month shutdown, and they announced in the terminal prior to boarding, that cabins were ready and everyone could go directly to their rooms if they wanted.

Also, in the past when we've been on a Christmas sailing, they passed out complimentary glasses of champagne when we boarded the ship (that was a few years ago, so not sure if they still do that).

Okay, maybe there arent as many options as I thought there were. Some of the restaurants must not take reservations. Thank you for your response!

chibang and cucina do not, on jubilee (excel class ships)

Thank you! That helps! Those were two I was interested in.

they are more or less considered extensions of the main dining room, and are complimentary (at least for the 1st visit at each)

New question all other carnival ships you board on deck 3 into the lobby.  On the Jubilee deck plans I don't see a lobby, and deck 3 doesn't show on deck plans. So on what deck do you enter the ship, because climbing 3 stories of ramps to enter the ship is about the extent of my physical limitations.

If it's anything like the Mardi Gras and Celebration, which it is, board on deck 6

It's been so long since we sailed Carnival.  We had Mardi Gras booked for Spring Break 2020 and then COVID!   I have two cabins booked.  We have the aft excel suite and a balcony for my teens (they are 16, 16, 15).  Anybody that has sailed Mardi Gras/Celebration, please share you tips.
