Blue Chip offer questions..

I have been offered an inside cabin on select cruises this spring..shorter cruises, although one is at least a 5 night..

Question is will they give me a quote on upgrading to a higher class cabin?  Any hints for getting at least the classic drink package included, if that’s even possible without paying full price.

I’m not keen on an inside cabin myself.

I was curious of any experiences y’all have had with this..my first time getting a truly comped offer..

They sure will.  Be careful though. The upgrade price difference becomes a non-refundable fare.  And if you add on AI (which now should be called SI FOR ‘Somewhat Included’) that also becomes part of the fare and therefore non-refundable.

I got an offer too. Actually two offers and booked them both. I asked them to quote me a guarantee veranda. Both times the cost was the same as the difference between an inside guarantee and a veranda guarantee.  So for the 5 day Summit on 12/2 it was $78 per person.  I took it. Our cabin was assigned within a week. It was on deck 6 over the lifeboats so I called and I was able to move to a veranda on deck 8 for no charge. Later through the cruise planner, I was also able to buy the premium drink package for 63.99. So I can cancel and rebuy if a better deal comes along.

The other cruise was 5 day Apex on 4/27/24. They quoted $500 per person to move to a veranda guarantee.  I said no thanks since I just wanted to take my daughter on an Edge class before she gets married and don't want to put a lot of money into it. However I wrote an email to the Moveup team to ask to be made eligible to get an offer. They replied that I should write back within 60 days of sailing and they will. So maybe I will get a veranda that way.

They also give you free drinks while in the casino but I read on CC that it is a limited selection that is included. We just decided to buy the package.

@manmachine and @kands6191 nailed it, I'm just going to expand.  Each sailing only allows a certain number of BCC bookings overall and then only allocates a certain number of rooms.  In some cases, if you want a specific sailing, you may find the insides and cheaper OVs sold out but you can pay for a veranda.  You should have at least three options (sailings and/or stateroom types) before calling because a lot of them seem to be sold out of insides and OVs.  Also, before you call, make sure you have the offer code and CC# handy (CC# isn't in the free sailing email for some reason).  Once booked, you can get on MoveUp by emailing the MoveUp; don't even bother asking the reps, they'll tell you it's not eligible assuming they even know what MoveUp is.  There's some debate in the BCC community as some are able to apply for and receive the OBC for being a shareholder.  Some claimed to have been awarded it but most get repeatedly denied, myself included.

Summary (I use a spreadsheet)

1) Pick out at least 3 options, sailings, and/or room types

2) Have your offer code, CC#, and credit card handy

3) Call the BCC

4) If you booked something, email the MoveUP dept assuming you want to bid
