QE is in Egypt tomorrow, why would there be changes, conflict is in Isreal, no Cunard ship is planned to stop there. Jordan's Red Sea coast, Oman and Dubai are not involved or any where close to the conflict.

Jordan's Red Sea coast, Oman and Dubai are not involved or any where close to the conflict. There have been rockets fired from Yemen towards Israel (intercepted by the Saudis) and there is a US Navy presence in the Red Sea. I’d be on alert for any itinerary changes, maybe not immediately but in the coming months.
alibabacruisers Posted November 8, 2023 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2023 We are on QE and were expecting changes, but none have ever materialized. We have not seen or heard of anything threatening to us, although in this neck of the woods the pirate precautions are in force. We are due in Salalah, Oman the day after tomorrow and still no mention of changes.

Pirate Practise for us involved sitting in the corridor away from the cabin door [cabin door being susceptible to any passing missile, the walls being stronger so obviously able to withstand said missile], exchanging pleasantries with neighbours, all carried out with G&T in hand. Very convivial. 👍
Rare Victoria2 Posted November 9, 2023 #8 Share Posted November 9, 2023 Added precautions complete absence of outside lights and all cabin curtains tightly draw; noise emitting thingys on the back of the ship and very capable chaps looking very capable around on deck three.
Winifred 22 Posted November 9, 2023 #9 Share Posted November 9, 2023 I was also told the Captain and other senior officers take off their name badges and other insignia showing rank. This from a Royal Caribbean senior officer so may be different for Carnival Corp and U K
Lanky Lad Posted December 18, 2023 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2023 Having seen the news about some ships no longer going via the Red Sea, I thought there might be some changes to world cruises. No new yet as far as I know.

Just to make sure we're clear about the changes to QM2's world voyage itinerary, those changes so far do not involve an alteration to her route. The originally scheduled call to Lisbon has been canceled with the calls to Tenerife, Walvis Bay and Port Elizabeth rescheduled to arrive a day earlier than originally planned. The call to Port Elizabeth is now going to be an overnight to put the rest of the voyage back on the original schedule.
