Watching MotorGP on Majestic.

Hi. Have a family member who will be cruising with friends on the Majestic Princess on 20 November from Sydney.

They want to watch the MotoGP. Is there Foxtel in the room cabin or somewhere on the ship where they can watch the MotoGP?  Thanks.

Foxtel, no. We watched Foxtel Go via the app on Majestic October last year, but it was IP blocked in February this year. We no longer have Foxtel, so I don't know if it is yeh or nah this season. Foxtel has the rights for broadcasting in Australia. Even when in port, the ship is a foreign customer. In general, Foxtel is disappearing from hotels everywhere.

Bad news over. Last weekend I watched some World Cup Cricket & a bit of the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sport 24. They do show MotoGP on those channels, as their programme guide has the upcoming Malaysian & Qatar Moto GPs.

PS: It is available in cabin with two channels, and there are sport screens in the bar beside the casino.

I think you can subscribe to the MotoGP website for live broadcast viewable on internet connection. When MotoGP went off free to air a few years ago, I had a look at the MotoGP website so my memory is a little hazy. Can't be many races left this season.

I have never seen MotoGP on a cruise.

30 euros per season to subscribe. If you have a subscription already, it does steam well over Princess internet.

It is free via Sport24 on Majestic TV screens, and I believe that is also the case for all Princess ships in Australia.

I may have to revisit it for next season now that I have a smarter than me TV.

We ditched Foxtel around 6 months ago. I am missing a bit of motorsport, particularly Nascar and Grand Prix and a bit of NRL, but am finding it liberating to not be paying for stuff that doesn't make a big difference to my quality of life.

If Australia & India can make the cricket world cup final, it is quite possible the ship will cease operation for a few hours while the Aussie passengers and Indian crew crowd the pool deck.
