Deep-Blue-Iris Posted November 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2023 So, heading on Oasis for a 7 night Med cruise next May. It'll be my third cruise, first with RCI. My friend is coming with me and it's his first cruise ever. I'd like to order some gifts for the cabin, but as he has access to our booking to pay his half of the cruise fare, if I book anything, will he be able to see it on the site? I think it's only my email address on the booking. I'm thinking of the Bon Voyage package, and the Champagne and chocolate strawberries. Anyone got either of these, and can you advise if you thought it was worth it?

If delivered (many online orders like this get screwed up) few, if any, of these types of gifts are worth the money. Unlikely he'll see the order. If you really want to treat him to something, buy a specialty lunch at a heavy discount (that probably has more value that the gift you envisioned) with the current Black Friday sale.
smokeybandit Posted November 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2023 He won't see any Royal Gift purchases since they aren't in the cruise planner.
Deep-Blue-Iris Posted November 19, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted November 19, 2023 Thank you both, that's really helpful. I'll have to have a think on what I want to do if the packages aren't all that. We're in Barcelona for 2 nights pre-cruise so if I want to go down the champagne/wine route we could always pick this up there. I know some specialty dining is absolutely on the cards as we're both quite foodie. If anyone has recommendations for Oasis, I'm all ears!
Rare mandyleighflies Posted November 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2023 I agree with Biker, the online orders can be hit or miss sometimes. When you are able to do so, book a nice dinner in one of specialty restaurant's they will only see bookings in the cruise planner if they go in a book something themselves. You could also book a fun surprise excursion, we are going on a holiday cruise as a family next month and I booked a couple things to do in Coco Cay and Nassau as a surprise holiday gift. Buy him a beer in the pub .🤣
ngrund Posted November 19, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 19, 2023 Another vote for 150CP- In March we ate there, Chops and Giovanni's. All 3 were excellent, but 150 was our fav.
Rare livingonthebeach Posted November 19, 2023 #8 Share Posted November 19, 2023 The Champagne (really bubbly not true French Champagne) and chocolate covered strawberries are currently on sale for Black Friday. I've ordered this before and it was delivered and in the cabin on embarkation day - no issues. For my cruise leaving out of Barcelona in June of 2024 the deal is currently $31.99 which is a very good price. It's a nice touch to have in the cabin upon entering. Check your cruise planner prices and then decide.

I purchased lunch in Chops on Oasis, on a sea day, for my group of 8 cruisers, as a christmas gift. It was absolutely wonderful and everyone loved it. PigsCanFly Posted November 20, 2023 #10 Share Posted November 20, 2023 We have receivgne ed chocolate covered strawberries often from either the casino or the C&A folks. They are never left uneaten. We also have received Champagne or Wine from the Casino folks . The champagne better than e gets consumed by DW & I, wine becomes Christmas gifts for wine drinkers in the family. As for specialty restaurants, We also endorse CP150 on Oasis class. For us it has been much better than Chops. The Italian restaurant and Izumi rank next for Us.
