New ship cruise prices, likely to have any sales?

Do new ship cruise prices typically go down before the ship starts sailing?  I am interested in a Xcel sailing in early 2026.  Price is $321 pp/pd for a 7 day Caribbean cruise in Aqua class.  They chopped off San Juan so it’s only 3 ports plus a few sea days.  So just long enough to dip your toe in the water.

But it’s a new ship!  But it’s the Infinite Veranda which I haven’t tried.  It’s not available for the same dates but a 10 day on the Eclipse is $220 pp/pd.  Also in Aqua.

Only if sales are slow.

True! and lately sales seem to have been pretty brisk because I don't see prices going down. The cruise we are boarding next month on the Beyond has almost doubled for the same class cabin since we booked over a year ago. People seem to be flocking to cruising post-covid. As more new ships come on-line, I hope the prices comes down overall.
