Available cabins - having to "play games" to see what options I have.

I was looking at some 2025/26 dates for the Mardi Gras under my VIFP#. In most cases it's only giving me (suite options) of Ocean View Suite - and - Family Harbor Ocean View Suite.

I logged in later from another computer, and didn't have my credentials handy, and checked the same dates. Lo and behold, there are NINE categories of suites available - including every type of Excel Suite they have (what I was looking for).

I'm scratching my head as to why Carnival does not want me to see all the options, and is only spoon feeding me limited cabin types. I mean, leave it up to me to decide if I'd be ok paying full price (non-casino rates) for something. If it's a Presidential Suite I'm looking for, I might just wander off to another cruise line if I can't find it. This just seems ... stupid !

BTW, I've encountered this in the past as well.

It may have to do with the rate code you've selected, it may only apply for certain cabin types.

Instances like this are when it's helpful to have a PVP or TA. Their tools can be more comprehensive.

Whenever I search, I can't select a rate other than the preselected rate until after I select a cabin type.  The preselected rate is usually the cheapest rate that allows cabin selection, assuming I don't select a guarantee cabin.

Absolutely. I use a PVP and she can see all the cabins.

I agree, they have changed up the booking engine lately to automatically select the rate code with the lowest price. You have to go through the booking engine until the end, then go back to choose a different code. Big headache. At least, I haven't figured out a better way to do it. Maybe there is.

I used to use Carnival's booking engine to book my cruise, then I'd call my TA to book it, because I felt Carnival's booking engine was easy to use and faster than going back and forth with my TA but that's no longer true.
