We are booked on this 10 day cruise at the end of February and getting mixed info regarding yellow fever certificates

The itinerary includes Cartagena, and from here goes to Panama canal and then to Costa Rica

does anyone know if we will be allowed to access these ports?

We do not have a yellow fever certificate due to the vaccine, not been recommended for over 60s

Any info, greatly appreciated

I've been on one cruise that went through the Panama Canal, two that did partial transits, made two visits to Cartagena, and three visits to Costa Rica by cruise ship.  I have never been advised that I needed a yellow fever certificate on any of them, don't have one, never brought it, and was never asked for it.  I'm a U.S. citizen, and perhaps the requirements for different countries vary.

Similar numbers...4 full, one partial transits, numerous stops in Costa Rica (both Caribbean and Pacific sides) and Cartagena, never required yellow fever shots, don't have them.

Hi Everyone, we are booked to go on similar cruise with stops at Cartagena, and then a partial transit of the Panama canal (with excursion to the Pacific end of the canal) and then onto Costa Rica.

Am I right that it is still the case that the yellow fever jab isn’t compulsory unless we have transited or come from specific countries? We are both over 60 and know that there are possible risks in having the jab.

how about other vaccinations such as typhoid or tetanus?

like others have found the websites I have looked at give confusing advice and I suspect my GP will just go with whatever the NHS fit to Travel site says which is fine but it would be useful to have some real life experiences from fellow travellers
