A beautiful arrival into Auckland.  Three days at a very convenient dock.  Cheers...😎

Three days! Nice. We only got two.  Pier 10 is the last of the original buildings at the harbour.  Enjoy!

In Tauranga on a perfectly beautiful day.  We really enjoyed the three day visit to Auckland.  We had been there before but just for a day so we had the chance to explore quite a bit more.  Auckland is a great port stop as the best part of the city center is easily walkable right off the ship.  We also took an extra cost tour that was well worth it.  Small group on a mini bus and a very good guide.  Ended in Devonport village with him giving us tickets to the ferry.  This gave us a few hours to roam Devonport and we landed in a great Indian restaurant.  Great meal.  Rain was threatening so we walked to the end of the main drag and caught the 12 minute ferry ride back to Auckland.  The ferry dock was the next pier to where Neptune was docked.  Such a nice livable city. The other days we went walkabout for shopping, eating, sightseeing .  All the bloggers are doing a great job with pix and I can't top them,.

Finally made it into Napier.  A tricky port for a ship our size unless weather is right.  Beautiful day and a really nice looking town and beach.  Stopped for a bit in The Rose for fish & chips and, of course, a local beer.  Great stop... Now if the newspaper building only said "The Daily Planet"....🍺😎

Looks very nice. I would have enjoyed seeing all those Art Deco buildings.

We almost didn’t make it into Nelson due to high winds, but on the 3rd attempt we were able to dock ; although about 2 hours late. Viking did a great job of rearranging the tours. They even got the Nelson Car Museum to stay open an extra couple of hours for the late tours.

Sorry Clay, currently docking in Napier. I can certainly see why they pass it up when windy.

Looks easypeasy compared to Nelson which was threading a needle and then making a u-turn!   Seems like someone said y’all weren’t going there? Or maybe it was Hobart that isn’t on your itinerary….wait, maybe that’s why they dropped it from ours today-it wasn’t a strike-it’s just of Neptune can’t do it then neither can Sky😂

As always when the Captain comes over the PA in your room it is not good news.  Due to very bad weather in the Tasman Sea we are skipping Milford/Doubtful and heading direct to Melbourne.  No stops at all on south Island..  Oh well, just another change in a lot of them.  Off to Wellington.

So what does your revised itinerary look like? Any chance we will be in the same port at the same time?

here is Sky’s

2/9 Sydney 10-1800

2/11 Rhyll/Phillips Island 18:00-23:59

2/12 Geelong 7-2000

2/14 Eden 8-1600

2/15-2/16 Sydney 8-?

According to the app none overlap.  But then the Captain said one thing, the tv shows another the app sometimes another.  They get their stories straight sometimes....  Got a call from the CD because we complained about the non existent tv most of the time.  Got a song and dance.  Two world cruises on Viking Sun and we had live broadcasts all but a few understandable times.  Guess they gave the good stuff to China....

Our app hasn’t been updated to show our new itinerary but what I posted was delivered in a letter to our room. Have y’all not gotten something similar?

I'm curious how "segmented" the Neptune world cruise feels.  For our first originally scheduled date in Sydney, Feb 15th, the calendar on the TV just says "Disembarkation Day".  Well not for the many of us who remain on the ship and have scheduled excursions that day.  It feels disjointed.  Just curious if you have the same segmentation occurring on Neptune.  Does your TV calendar show Disembarkation Day for your first day in Sydney, too?

Regent world cruisers were told today they are going around Africa.  Also given disembarkation options and a full itinerary.  This can be seen on the Regent board world cruise thread.  Time for Viking to do the same.

Oceania world cruisers were told the same. Hopefully Viking will resolve this uncertainty soon so guests can enjoy their voyage without contemplating contingency plans.

That’s my hope as well. Just let us know so we can move on.
